About this deal
Step onto the stage with confidence, knowing that your vocals will reach new heights with the Boss VE-20 Vocal Processor. Not cheap, especially considering it rather bizarrely doesn't come with a mains adaptor, but it's very well built ; metal casing. You get 38 seconds of mono record time to loop and layer phrases, and you can do it all in real time onstage. Harmony, double-track, dynamics, reverb, delay, real-pitch correctional tools, a looper, and even phantom power to plug in your favorite condenser microphone is all included in the VE-20.
I haven't used it live as yet but if all you need is harmony plus maybe a bit of chorus and effects it'll do the job out the box. Then, when you've made your selection, you have to hold this button down for two seconds to confirm it. If you're a singer looking to take a hands-on approach to your tone or looking to experiment with sounds that are dedicated to the voice, the VE-20 Vocal Performer is hard to beat.Harmony Function:** Create lush vocal harmonies in real-time, allowing you to sing in harmony with yourself. My fave effects are the octave below, chorus, double/ three/ six voices and a couple of the harmonizers. And to connect a wireless mic, you just need a plug to XLR cable, if the output of the receiver is just for plug, but if you got the XLR out put wouldn`t be a problem. My experience in the past has been to send effects through a separate channel so you have total control over the mix of original and effect sounds.
This stompbox brings pedals out of the realm of guitarists and bassists and into the realm of vocalists, with effects designed just for the voice.
Phrase Looper:** The built-in phrase looper enables you to loop and layer your vocals, creating harmonies and textures on the fly. The on-board phrase looper lets you build up your vocals on top of each other to create an interesting backing. All of these features work really nicely, but this is still kind of a complicated piece of equipment, and you are going to want to make sure that you have your presets figured out before your gig.
