A variable-speed dial provides ultimate speed control from 8,000 – 12,000 OPM for a variety of projects. Whilst the sander in general is great, I wish the on / off control was more accessible, it’s fitted behind a rubber shroud to keep the dust out, which is great, but I find it awkward to shut off with one finger whilst being held with one hand . The proprietary dust port connection presents a minor annoyance. You can hook it up to a non-DeWalt dust collector’s 1-1/4″ hose using the optional DWV9000 adapter. Of course, the onboard bag works fine for smaller jobs.
