About this deal

Purchasing my first home grinder would be my first foray into expanding my coffee knowledge and experience and this seems like a great grinder. I have just bought the SGP to use with the EC685 and have found that a grind size of 12 for 11-12 seconds is a good starting point. This is to ensure the machine is kept in top notch condition, resulting in less breaks downs and better tasting coffee. Hi Anton, Hmm, no I’ve not tested the difference that the volume of coffee in the hopper, but I am familiar with unexpected changes in flow rate, it’s like you’re dialed in, and then on the next shot you’re not. Intelligent settings help your grinder achieve perfect results regardless of how fine or coarse you require your beans.

What you will benefit from, however, is the amazing user-friendliness, ease of use, and lots of features that you won't find on most other options. The only thing I would say is that to get the slow run through the boiler part of my Sage Express I have to dial down my supermarket Grind “Taylors Lazy Sunday” to about 7-8. The Smart Grinder Pro uses dosing IQ technology to ensure the same dose amount is given every time you grind. This is a low-cost grinder, the burrs alone in some commercial grade grinders cost more than this grinder, and some of the grinders at around the one to two thousand pounds mark, or above, will usually, hopefully, produce more consistent particle size. So if you were looking for a review from someone who really put this grinder through its paces, I'm doubtful you'll find many reviews for this grinder from people who've had quite as much experience with it as I have. This is a little twist in the story, but fear not, it's a story with a happy ending, and it turned out that it was me that was broken. Checkout my friends at Coffee Hit, one of the UK's most established suppliers of pro and home barista gear. The Haus self has been discontinued by the manufacturer, and I’ve not heard of it until now, I can’t find any reviews for it, so it would seem a bit of an unknown entity. A couple of the features could possibly be referred to as unnecessary I suppose, although I can't think of any that I don't think are useful, but some of them are genius, one of them in particular, which is the internal burr adjustment, which I'll talk about shortly.

If you're looking for the negatives, honestly there aren't any really, not fair negatives anyway, I.This particular grinder did have a few minor issues in its earlier designs that Sage have managed to iron out. It depends on the beans of course, but I often find myself grinding at a setting of 1 and still getting fast flowing, under-extracted shots. On the Oracle Touch the grind size that worked well for the beans was 27 (for espresso), but the numbers are totally different on the Smart Grinder Pro? If you watch the various reviews and comparisons, you'll find that the Smart Grinder Pro is usually found to be quieter than a lot of other grinders, and it's among the quieter grinders I've used.

In other words, it was the environment that the coffee machine was in, in which the changes were happening, not the hopper, but the hopper wasn't providing any protection against this change in humidity.

Ended up giving the grinder and SDB to a friend when I upgraded- figured I had got my money’s worth! Whilst you can remove a worn impeller through the lower burr quite easily, a new one won’t fit through it and you have to do quite a substantial dismantling of the machine to remove the lower burr. This Sage coffee grinder ensures that your kitchen will soon be full of the delicious aroma of grinded coffee beans; just what you need to ensure that your day starts off in the best possible way! Please note that our 10% coffee discount code (CG10) is sadly not valid for this particular package.
