About this deal

Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Jalen perform live knows that he is one of the most captivating performers on today's soul scene. I can see a lot of people posting recent reviews on the 2010 UK page, which makes me think there might be some contamination between the listings - the 2010 is very unlikely to be the best sounding record in *anyone's* collection as a few have claimed!

Those were presented as by 'the Who' even though none of the members of the band were in the movies. Russel's ident has him stomping off of the edge of a pier and diving into the ocean, presumably headed to Plastic Beach for reasons unknown.

It's most noticeable on Empire Ants: the drop halfway through sounds almost like a home cassette recording, all booming bass and no detail, and the hihat is barely audible instead of driving the track like it should. In a July 2008 interview with The Observer he also said, "Gorillaz now to us is not like four animated characters any more– it's more like an organisation of people doing new projects . Nice and quiet, heavy vinyl (I added "180g" to this release because, well, it is), plays nicely without any hiccups, sounds just great - I agree with others in that is has a very "clear" sound, also a bit "bouncier" compared to digital. Been waiting to find a copy of this for a few years to see if it was better than the 2010 pressing that I got upon release.

On 14 January 2010, Albarn made an appearance as a guest DJ on BBC Radio 1, premiering demos of three new Gorillaz songs– "Electric Shock", "Broken" and "Stylo". I've always felt, I'm trying to get across on this new record, the idea that plastic, we see it as being against nature but it's come out of nature. Like their self titled debut album, this album perfectly showcases the band's two sides which compliment each other perfectly. The closer to the center of the record the needle is, the more static there is in the right channel, rendering that disc of the album pretty much unlistenable. After reading all of these overwhelmingly positive reviews, my hopes were through the roof upon my first play - though this pressing still managed to blow me away! The inserts are in great shape (thick enough to stand up to the weight of the records), and have great art and a beautiful glossy finish. The records are dead silent with absolutely no pops throughout, and sound absolutely wonderful with an outstanding soundstage. This record has only scratched the surface of [that] period of work and the sort of adventures we went on," he said. Has really been growing me over the years and I might even be comfortable saying that Plastic Beach is on par with Demon Days. Electric Shock" did not make the album, though samples of the song were used in "Rhinestone Eyes", as well as the intro orchestral separated into bonus track "Three Hearts, Seven Seas, Twelve Moons".

This isn’t a huge deal to me, but it’s still false advertising to show the afternoon cover and then deliver the daytime one. He was supposed to do it, but then he declined, which was a real shame", Albarn explained to New York magazine. At the end of 2010, Plastic Beach appeared on several critics' top-ten lists of the year's best albums. like adders, grass snakes, slow worms, toads, frogs, newts, all kinds of rodents, all kinds of squirrels, a massive number of squirrels, foxes, and obviously, seagulls. Writing for MSN Music, Robert Christgau singled out "Some Kind of Nature" and "Superfast Jellyfish" as "choice cuts", [67] indicating good songs on an album that he felt was otherwise unworthy of listeners' money or time.Plastic Beach is the first Gorillaz album produced entirely by Damon Albarn and features a roster of guest stars including Snoop Dogg, Bobby Womack, Mos Def, Lou Reed, The Clash's Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, The National Orchestra for Arabic Music and many more. Alexis Petridis also of The Guardian commended Albarn for his "kaleidoscopic musical ambition" and said despite some failed experiments, "there's something hugely impressive about Albarn's ability to coax artists out of their comfort zone. This version differs from the original pressing in that any mention of "EMI Records Ltd" was replaced by "Parlophone Records Ltd".
