Noche Latina presents Charanga Del Norte & Om - Noche Latina - Bradford

Noche Latina are proud to present Charanga Del NorteCharanga del Norte was set up in 1998 by the bandleader Sue Miller who studied Cuban flute improvisation with the legendary flute player and composer Richard Egües from Orquesta Aragón. To celebrate their 20th anniversary year in 2019 the band will be performing at Noche Latina, Saltaire on Friday 8th March. The group has performed at many venues including the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and at festivals as diverse as Cambridge Jazz, Harrogate International, Sidmouth Folk, and Cheltenham International. They have also supported top international Cuban bands Buena Vista Social Club’s Eliades Ochoa in the main concert hall at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, and Orquesta Aragon and Changüi de Guantanamo (booked by The Barbican in London). Charanga del Norte’s Musicians The current line-up of the band features the cream of the crop from the UK salsa scene includingSue Miller on flute (Orquesta Sublime/Orquesta Broadway/Charanga de Oro/Orquesta Barbarito Diez/Charanga Soleil/Estrellas Cubanas), pianist Kim Burton (Sonido de Londres/ Roberto Pla Latin band/ 3 Mustaphas 3),singer Guillermo Monroy (Merengada/Salsa y Aché), and original members, violinists Nick Williams and Jon Lindh (violins) plus local singer Ana Luisa Munoz (Tarantismo/Mestisa).
