That study concluded that the number one predictor of how happy and satisfied you could be was self-acceptance. Meaning, how kind you were to yourself and how much you cheered for yourself had a direct and proportionate impact on your happiness. Being kind to yourself has the power to completely change your life—yet self-acceptance is what we practice the least. You’ll drink the kale smoothie, go to the gym, get up earlier, cut out gluten, and meditate and the entire time beat yourself up about the fact that you’re still not doing enough or not doing it right . . . That’s why being kind to yourself is what really matters. Or what more excellent work should you accomplish? So to use this technique, stand up and look at yourself in the mirror, whatever situation you are in. Then feel your inner self. And ask him what he should do to move forward in his life. However, you may have made a to-do list earlier to complete your essential tasks, and if not, then make a to-do list soon and include all the vital works you want to achieve. Your mind has a filter, much like a machine, called the Reticular Activating System, or the RAS. This system aims to filter the information you constantly receive so that only the relevant bits reach your conscious mind. However, sometimes this filter doesn’t function at its optimal parameters, which requires a deep cleaning. The high five teams believed in each other and in their ability, as a team, to win. They played like they trusted each other. The unspoken power they shared helped them become unstoppable. Conversely, the worst teams in the NBA barely touched. They had terrible body language. No high fives. Nada. And it showed: they consistently made selfish, inefficient plays, and their records reflected it.

Man do I regret having parted with my money for this book. I read quite a number of self help type books but this is one of the worst I've read. So bad in fact that I felt compelled to leave this review. The official occasion for this conversation is Mel’s brand new book, The High Five Habit—a must-read primer on how to make believing in yourself a habit so that you operate more empowered and with greater confidence. It all comes down to trust. The teams that took five points in a row kept lifting each other. Physical touch says I have received your support. I think it’s a really fantastic introduction to the self-improvement world and is perfect for someone who is suffering with anxiety and/or is fairly new to visualization and such habits. I’m fairly well-informed in this area so it was less ground-breaking for me but it could be interesting for anyone unfamiliar with the reticular activating system and how it affects our life.

You may have seen a child. When the child does some work, and you praise that child after seeing that work and give him a slight High five, that child becomes motivated and does that work more. This book will teach us how to adopt the High five habits. If you also want to be successful and bring significant changes in your life, take care of all the essential things mentioned in the book. The High Five Habit Book Review Then stand in front of the mirror and ask yourself which of the tasks included in your to-do list is most important. Remember that while doing this, focus on something other than meaningless commissions. Your mind is designed to help you achieve your dreams. Your job is to believe it is possible and encourage yourself to keep walking toward it.”This moment of intentional reflection is more powerful than you think. Recent research from Harvard Business School has found that taking a moment to reflect on your work improves job performance, helps you be more effective, and makes you feel more motivated. A new way of thinking about myself and about what was possible for me. It inspired me to create an entirely new way of experiencing life. That’s why I wrote this book. You look in the wrong mirror when you seek your worth in accepting others. Simply put, a million likes on social media mean nothing if you don’t like yourself. So instead of looking at the likes of others, start liking yourself. And focus on bragging about yourself. But the kids who got a modest High five? Despite making mistakes, they felt the most positive about themselves and their actions and persevered the longest. The results were so precise that the researchers titled the study the “high five motive” and the academic journal Frontiers in Psychology. A small High five can change your results and motivate you to progress. It influences everything from your confidence in achieving this is possible with a slight moment of mirroring. So start doing this today to become successful and productive in your life. Chapter 3: Research supports this Researchers from Britain’s University of Hertfordshire have researched things that create happiness and satisfaction.Four things that can always come through: the sound of your name, any threat to safety, your partner is interested in having sex with you or someone else, and whatever you tell your brain is important to you. When I stopped trashing myself and started giving my reflection a high five instead, it was more than an encouraging gesture on a low day. It flipped that self-criticism and self-hatred on its head. It changed the lens through which I viewed my life. Why? It wasn’t an easy question to answer. She was stressed and tired and dissatisfied with herself. She needed some support. But she knew the support had to come from within. In a way, the high five was a demonstration of self-belief.
