Herausragend, wirklich herausragend ist der Bass aus dem Subwoofer. Er macht mir Angst. Nicht nur Kraft die Kraft stimmt. Ich habe in manchen Liedern völlig neue Dinge zum ersten mal wirklich klar gehört. Spitzenklasse! Damit ist alles gesagt. Der Subwoofer ist spitze!

Incredible panoramic surround sound

Die Tiefen sind *massiv* (da 300W Sub) und man braucht sie, da sonst die Bar flach klingt, nichts für Mietwohnungen, nehmt die kleinere von JBL.....

JBL’s Bar 5.1 Surround may not offer true 5.1 surround sound, but its virtual version is an excellent approximation. Its giant subwoofer can rumble the floor during action sequences and adds depth to voices. Overall, it’s a solid mid-priced soundbar —one of few on the market in this price range. While it was harder to set up properly than most soundbars, that should be a one-time pain. Die JBL ersetzt tatsächlich eine Bowens & Wilkens Panorama 2. Diese hatte zwar einen ausgewogenen Klang, aber der "virtuelle" Surround Effekt war für die Katz. Hier ist die JBL weit überlegen. As a soundbar with a subwoofer this system is fine, giving a room-filling sound for those who want to keep the setup super-minimal. But if you want real surround sound then you simply pull out the end speakers, held in place via magnets, and place them at the rear of the room. This strength is also a weakness though, as it means it has weak mids, and the ‘gap’ that some systems have between mids and bass is very noticeable when you're trying to listen to music on the soundbar.The whole system was simple to setup. In fact, the challenge was in getting it all out of the box – a step that comes with it own instructions. Yes, really. Die Soundbar selbst liefert reinen aber etwas dünnen Ton, dem die Mitten komplett fehlen. Das läßt sich auch durch das starke wummern des Subwoofers nicht verbessern. Ganz im Gegenteil, die trägt eher zu einem etwas unausgewogenen Klangbild bei. The JBL Bar 5.1’s remote control feels light, plastic and – frankly – cheap. Nevertheless, it works fine and keeps buttons to a minimum while still offering everything you could want. I like the easy access of the audio sync timing with a plus and minus option.

Wer also ein "kleines aber funktionierendes" Heimkino ohne viel Kabel-Verlegerei will, und nicht die Super Dolby Atmos des Multiplex Kinos der City erwartet, ist mit der JBL gut beraten. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier alle Male! Rear access for cables is a little fiddly, since they need to be bent to fit into the small sliding slots. This makes flush-wall mounting easier, but it might shorten the lifetime of those HDMI ports if you’re regularly unplugging/replugging cables.

All about the bass

Der richtige Nachteil kommt aber noch, denn man braucht die Fernbedienung. An der Soundbar kann man nur ON/OFF, Lautstärke und Channel bedienen, alles Andere ist auf der Fernbedienung, wie auch die mit wichtigsten Buttons: Bass, Surround und Soundmode.
