I would like to express just how thankful I am that NetGalley exists and that it actually works in my country so I can read books as amazing as this one. Even though he showed a lot of arrogance when interacting with others, he was also kind, caring, and protective, even towards his enemies 😉😉He did the best he could for his people, even though it wasn't enough at times. Like you'll get an overall vibe as to where things might be headed ("uh oh this person seems sketch"), and even if your vibe was right the actual events that will occur will just not be AT ALL what you expected.

This one was okay sometimes but she made the haroine/MC goofy corny and ridiculous and also Dorky and not in the good goofy. The entire plot is driven by two competing groups of magical beings looking for a book that may or may not exist, and two super powerful beings from each opposing group fall in love. i didn’t remember how long we talked, but somewhere amidst her laughter and smiles, i decided i would rip the world apart for her. I understand she’s trying to build a relationship with the sister to show us how much she means to Dianna, but she tells us about 85 times in the span of three chapters that she never gets to see Gabby, and this is such a rare occurrence. That ending had me IMMEDIATELY checking when the next book will come out and all I can say is: 2024 can't be here soon enough.in conclusion I will not be able to live love laughtill the sequel to this masterpiece is in my hands. Maybe it's just me, but I honestly can't take the name "Liam" seriously around names like Neverra, Alistair, or even Tobias and Logan.

This book was advertised as two villains who fall in love or something like that; I can't remember exactly, but I know Dianna was announced as a villain, but she's not. We get to see his beautiful healing journey and the coconut🥥 character (hard on the outside, soft on the inside). ON TO THE SECOND BOOK SO I CAN GET MY HEART BROKEN (please Amber Nicole do not break my heart I need them to be happy and I need their world to be happy). The situations she found herself in were near-impossible to escape, yet she dealt with them in the best ways she knew. I enjoyed the inclusion of gods, monsters, and mortals, though it did take a bit of time to get situated within the world as a reader.The only qualm I had about this book was that the world was definitely confusing at first, which is not uncommon for fantasy novels, but I had a hard time even understanding the main conflict until much of the worldbuilding was cleared up.

There are histories, war, languages, different realms and planets, severallllll different types of magical/paranormal creatures that still feel unique, and everything in between. Dianna also grew on me as the story progressed and she opened up the further she got from her previous role plus started to make decisions for herself for a change. I think this was the perfect choice for us, and I loved discussing our thoughts, theories, and just mutually falling in love with these characters.The Book of Azrael is an ultimate enemies to lovers slow burn with Gods, super scary dark immortal beings with a name I can’t pronounce, witches, vampires, and more.
