About this deal

Anyways this was so good! I was hooked from the first chapter and I finished this in one sitting. I usually don't enjoy prologues because I just want a full length novel for me to binge on but this was an exception. I loved Adelaide's writing and it was super easy to read and compelling to keep going (as to how I spent my entire night reading). I will definitely be reading from this author again!

There was potential and to be honest, I was quite into it when the story began, showing how the two main characters met. Once they became adult, it seemed to me that their connection lost some of its depth. There was no passion or anything that really made me root for them. Something else that was kind of a miss for me was how the author didn't develop around Neri's diary ( Thalia's mother). We never get to know what secrets was in it. My guess is that it will play a part in the second book but I mean, I think the author missed her opportunity here to build an intrigue around the diary. And I can tell for sure that if she'd done that here, I would actually be looking forward to the next book. One day, when she was older, she’d be mine.” We love a loyal king, the moment he sets eyes on our heroine Isa, he doesn’t touch or even think about another woman. He has always been protective of her ever since the agreement was signed when he was 13 and Thalia was 5 for them to marry – however it is noted multiple times he does not have any sexual/imitate feelings for her until she is of age. Isa finally puts herself first and takes the chance on the vacation of a lifetime in Ibiza. Things start to heat up when she meets a mysterious guy and immediately feels a connection she can’t quite break free from. She’s unaware her new love interest is a man that’s orchestrated the entire trip giving ten days to fall in love with him….or else. Isa is a girl from Chicago, who is naive and inexperienced. She lives her life trying to fix a mistake from the past, which her twin sister absolutely hates her for. (This sister is a bish and karma is a real thing) when she meets Rafe she learns to embrace the darkness that lurks inside her and that ‘good girls don’t always have more fun’It’s official, Adelaide Forrest is my favorite mafia romance author, this book was everything you could ever want in a mafia romance. Angst, spice, family drama, tension, and bloodshed, it has it all. we see Calix has a dark side, and we see very well why him and Rafe are friends 😈. He isn’t on races crazy level AT ALL but he’s got that darkness and when he got made at Thalia 🥵🥵🤤 Beauty in Lies is a series of four books that follows the dark and twisted romance between Rafael and Isa.

Can't say more about the story since it would be spoilery for this short story, but I can talk about the characters though. The last time I read a Greek H was in my Mills & Boon Billionaire romances, so my inner teen was clutching her pearls looking at this badboy! And Thalia, she's not a pretty princess or a naive little thing, she's a warrior through and through! I love how Adelaide gives a special something to her characters, especially depicting how different or flawed can is also beautiful. Let's talk about Rafael: this is the darkest, most morally grey man I have met, but I was obsessed! Think of him as your alphahole, possessive, man giving off intense "touch her and you die" vibes! Some of his actions were questionable but the way he talks 😮‍💨 and I LOVED that he was Hispanic! There's nothing hotter than a man speaking Spanish and I was weak 🥵

So from there we have growth between our couple we have some really off the charts smex🔥🔥🔥🔥. Fighting their enemy and fixing the truth about their twisted pasts and things that brought them together. It’s definitely a journey. But a beautiful twisted dark one you won’t want to end.

Pero esto no duró mucho ya que el padre de Calix se acostó con la madre de Thalia, cosa que en la alianza de las seis familias era inaceptable, por lo que a ellos dos los desterraron y a la madre de Thalia, la mataron. WOW this series is everything I love about dark romance wrapped up into one box set. I think I have a new book obsession! The story follows these two complex characters, one obsessed with another so much so that he sees nothing wrong with kidnapping a women to his private island and forcing her to marry him. From the moment Rafael laid his eyes on Isa, he knew she would be his so he concocted a very well devised plan to manipulate Isa into heading in his direction. he inserted himself so well thoroughly that Isa didn't stand a chance against him. And Thalia...This girl was so annoying to me. She had to witness horrors at such a young age and I did feel sorry for her, of all the pain she had to endure at the hand of her own family. I just really didn't like how unreasonable she was all the time. After Calix got banished, she dreamt for so long for him to come save her, and when he finally does it, she's complaining that it took so long. Like, this guys worked for years to gain the power to achieve saving Calix Regas is dark and twisted. Thalia has changed, she is stronger. I loved watching her become herself, her revenge and obsession with making her feel special is so touching. After receiving her degree in Psychology, Adelaide went on to work in a therapeutic riding facility. When her daughter was born, Adelaide traded out her boots to be a stay-at-home mom. In 2019, she added author to those job duties after a lifetime of dreaming about it. HFN/cliffy… this is a duet and book 2 comes out in September so it’s not a long wait. This didn’t end in a cliffy for me. Is it concluded- No but, it doesn’t leave you in a moment of suspense either. Which to me is acceptable 😂 lol Although the actual ending reminds me of a different series by Jenna, darling, and how someone was going to go find another person. Which, then leads to a new series or spinoff standalone.

This was one of the more unique storylines I’ve read and I enjoyed the journey! Isa and Rafe were meant for each other and their chemistry was unmatched. The spice in this book was unreal. I'm pretty sure every kink and trigger possible was included in this series lol. DEVOTION ❤️ this is the best word that I feel describes how Calix feels for Thalia. He is utterly devoted to her. At one point she makes it clear that she is not ready/willing to have a child with him yet and that she wants birth control and his response is to cuff her to his bed and forcefully inseminate her multiple times over a 24 hour period without letting her up for any reason. Isa- she’s living in her self made cage since she was 5 yrs old cause of an incident that happened and changed her whole life. She lives to please her very unappreciative family. And is basically not really living at all. Her twin sister is the worst person ever.claramente encontraba todo esto mal y la diferencia de edad era notable, pero de una forma u otra al conocer a Thalia, Calix decidió protegerla. Protegerla de su propio padre ya que este la golpeaba. Tropes: Age-Gap, Forced-Marriage, Forced-Proximity, Forced-Pregnancy, Stalker, Kidnapping, Possessive-Hero, Touch-Her-and-You-Die, Virgin Heroine, Wealthy-Hero/Poor-Heroine, Good-Girl-Gone-Bad, Jealous-Hero, Found-Family Dreams of the Deadly is the story of a multifaceted love that knows no bounds. It’s a blöödy tale of revenge and a no holds barred rise to power. Cálix as an adult is hard because he was a nice boy but the trauma he went through because of what his dad did changed him into something else. I think he went about marrying Thalia the wrong way. He should have been open and honest after he killed everyone at the wedding. He deffo should have made sure her brother was gone! I don’t think he has treated Thalia very nicely once she was his wife, he’s too intent on keeping secrets. He could have tried harder to help her trust him more and build their relationship up. I have loved watching Thalia come into her own and give as good as she gets I love that for her. She is so much braver than she thinks. She did annoy me with how she is refusing to give calix a chance, he hasn’t done anything bad to her but he isn’t truthful all the time either. He treats her well & genuinely wants the best for her. The Greek references have really got me intrigued on how this story is going to forward. Hopefully she writes it soon!
