About this deal

Sive and husband Aaron are on a trip to london, a reunion of sorts with all his housemates from when he was at uni. Jenny does what she can to help the Irvines to assuage her feelings of guilt but there is no progress.

Overall, this is such a good novel and one I’d have no hesitation in recommending to fans of the genre.Instead, she explains, as I detail the palpitations her book had given me while we chat over coffee a week later, the idea for the book stems from a real-life event from her own childhood. I really enjoyed Andrea Mara's upcoming release No One Saw a Thing so I decided to pick this bad boy up off my floor shelf and give it a whirl. I had to read this, as the story starts with every mother’s nightmare - your children are on a tube train, while you’re stuck on the platform watching them disappear into the tunnel 😱😱😱 And it stayed just as nail biting and gripping throughout! Otherwise, this is a solid popcorn thriller that I'd recommend to all "levels" of thriller readers (new to the genre, Scooby Doo gang, and full-on Aaron Hotch).

Sive and her husband, high flying criminal barrister Aaron Sullivan, were in London for a reunion with Aaron’s former flat mates of 20 years ago, but now their whole world has come tumbling down. The very common stresses and strains that come with parenting small kids, and nothing too personal about the kids,” she says. There’s something unnerving about reading a thriller about children who become separated from their parents while in a different country, when you happen to be, at that very moment in time, a parent who is away with her children in a different country. At points I found it really frustrating to read just by the amount of flashbacks to history which didn’t have context as the time. Her marriage is rocky, she's struggling to balance her work and family, she overthinks everything, and her mother-in-law is a nightmare.Whilst it’s not my favourite of Andrea’s, this one is perfect for holidays or when you’re looking for something compelling between heavier, longer reads. No One Saw A Thing, Mara’s latest novel, centres on busy journalist Sive, who pauses for a split second to check her phone while away with her family in London. Jenny the mother of Jacob the family who were assumed to have Milo finds herself inserting herself into the investigation. I won't say anything about the plot as I don't want to give a thing away but I think this is up there as one of my favourites from Andrea to date! But I still thoroughly enjoyed it - if you're looking for a fast-paced thriller, then definitely give this a read.
