Oh my goodness, why do I like this so much? I'm not a gourmand lover (at all); I generally like florals, musks and aquatics, but was interested in trying out lavender in a perfume. I love using lavender essential oil in my bath and cleaning products, diffuser, etc, but I wondered how that would translate to perfume, especially women's perfume. Somehow or other I became conscious of this perfume and sniffed it at Target, later bought a travel spray, and found myself buying a FB the very next day.

I really love this. REM is delicate, creamy, and unusual amongst Ariana's fragrance line. The sweetness in it is tempered by this lovely, salty lavender. The dry down is gloriously smooth, creamy, lightly powdery, and musky. REM feels like a younger cousin of Clean Reserve Skin (one of my absolute favorites), but goes a little bit more floral, fruity, and powdery than Skin while keeping those same salty, musky, praline/tonka vibes. And isn't that funny, how different fragrances from different houses smell more like flankers, compared to actual flanker releases being shilled at the minute! *eyes slowly shift to Angel Elixir*)This type of perfume is not exactly my "style". I prefer gourmands and soapy, laundry-type scents. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try this out. It's quite cosy and warm, so would probably be better in colder weather. While it isn't very strong it has lasted on my skin for most of the day, and for the cost it wouldn't bother me having to overspray this a bit to smell it well. Not in love though, and not sure I want a full bottle, but I will keep trying the tester in case it grows on me. If the initial scent of R.E.M lasted throughout the entire duration of this fragrance, it would be a 10/10. I like that this is a more unisex offering from Ari's lineup. It starts off almost like warm aftershave... In a nice, sweet, cozy way. The caramel and what I suppose is the zefir becomes more evident in the drydown after some of the aromatic top notes wear off, leaving mostly sweetness with a bit of lavender. It's a soothing fragrance that feels like a hug. Sweeter (and more wearable on me) than Replica Coffee Break. I LOVE this perfume. I would say it’s more developed, layered and unisex than the rest of ari’s gorg perfumes.

Ariana really have great perfumes. R.E.M is my favorite one. Every note is so beautiful and great blended. It's masculine and feminine at the same time. Sweet yet fresh and woody. This was a really nice one for me. I think if I was trying to get something new that I liked I would get this. It's one of those fragrances that you're not sure if your head over heels for or if you just like it.

I feel like this is Ariana’s take on Ysl Libre Intense with its lavender, powdery, fruity, aromatic main accords.

R.E.M is also great layered with Cloud. I would do 2 or 3 sprays of R.E.M for 7 sprays of Cloud (yes I'm an oversprayer 🙈). I found that it amped up the lavender in Cloud and made it less sweet. I would get compliments from my therapist, coworkers and a friend that doesn't even like sweet scents that much. This is a monster performer. Super strong and long-lasting! I was excited to try it because I love MM Coffee Break but this one isn't for me. It's way too heavy on the lavender - it reminds me of a bathroom air freshener. I don't really get much of that sweetness and I can't really detect any individual notes other than the lavender. I would consider this unisex and I think it could work on anyone, you just have to love lavender. Personally I think this would have been better with a vanilla or milk note, something to tame it down and turn it into a more relaxing lavender, rather than the bold, slightly harsh lavender that it is.

The worst one of ari's perfume (I've had all except the limited editions/2.0 editions). This is a little bit sweet but it's not even nearly as sweet as any of her other perfumes. I don't like lavender that much and to me it smells like a mix of like salt and lavender and it's not that good. It's not horrible but I regret buying it tbh. I would say it's not a safe blind buy even if you like all of her other perfumes. For reference my favorite to least favorite of hers: ari, cloud, sweet like candy, god is a woman, thank you next, moonlight, r.e.m. I do find the bottle design to be ridiculous and a waste of too much plastic, especially the holder part. I suppose AG had wanted to target younger audience with the design but I feel that the bottle on its own without the cheap plastic holder looks better and matches the scent better. It give a whole channel vibe without the holder, and that to me looks elegant. This scent gives me a working mature woman or maybe a girl going out to the club. It's so synthetic, I'm positive this is a 100% fragrance oil perfume. Honestly its reminiscent of Liz Taylor perfumes, even with the quartz crystal bottle holder giving those "sparkling white diamonds" vibes. Maybe then I can smell the sweetness. It does smell like a men's perfume to me, but not completely masculine. This leans more unisex because it has a slight sweetness to it, I guess from the caramel and zefir. When I first smelled it I didn’t like it as the alcohol was slightly overpowering, once you let it dry down though it is angelic The most prominent notes at initial spray is lavender, salt, quince and caramel. I would say the lavender is as strong as YSL Libre, so if you are ok with that level of strength you'd be fine with REM. It dries down to a smoother lavender, fluffy powder, tonka, lightly sweet with a browned sugar note. When I bought this, I already had Cloud and Thank U, Next. I bought R.E.M. as it had a seemingly nice scent profile and the quality of the aforementioned perfumes is very reasonable.
