About this deal

I absolutely hated this book and though I could list all the reasons why in this review, I'm afraid it would have too many spoilers that would anger fans and potential readers. Although this is a thriller about hostages on a plane, it really is so much more. If you enjoy character-based thrillers please do read it, as I don't think you could be disappointed. I found the plot and motivations complicated and with misdirections. There is a diabolical twist at the end, which probably no one anticipated. The reader is forced to question what they would do in a similar situation.

There won't be a sequel - at least I haven't planned one... I know there's a bit of a cliff-hanger (ha ha) at the end of I Let You Go, but I feel their stories are complete. Jenna has a happy ending, I promise :-) Cuando iba por la mitad del libro se descubre el motivo del secuestro del avión. Me ha parecido tan bobo que estuve a punto de abandonarlo. It’s a special occasion when World Airlines Flight #79 takes off for a non-stop trip from London to Sydney. Flight Attendant Mina is so eager to get away due to personal reasons, and although she’ll miss her daughter, Sophia, she is looking forward to 5 days away from home.could not put this book down...its grips you in such a way that you are going to lose sleep over it The main characters were flawed and believable, and their somewhat unlikeable qualities prevented me from feeling fully engaged in the outcome. I also felt there was a slight lag in plot development.

It may seem premature to label a book one of the top reads of the year in early March - yet I have no qualms in doing so here.

I sat up to the small hours reading this because I didn’t want to put it down, the tension escalating with each chapter. Se… https://t.co/ra7RPgf7Fv Mar 30, 2023, 6:13 PM We meet Mina and her husband Adam when their marriage is falling apart. She is cabin crew and he is a policeman and they are cops renting their daughter Sophia. The dilemma broke my heart and made my hand tremble. As a cabin crew, you have a responsibility towards the people on board. As a woman, mother, and wife, you have a responsibility towards your family. But can you sacrifice over 300 passengers for the sake of the ones you love? This is an impossible decision. I felt my brain take me to the aisle of the plane, my eyes scanning the faces. Celebrities, journalists, normal people, babies… And on the ground, millions of eyes ready to applaud this new non-stop route to the other side of the world. Clare made sure I could visualize everything so vividly I could not possibly choose. And then, she added beautifully intricate moments, chapter after chapter, making Hostage an emotional thriller masterpiece. All across the USA, people are showing up dead. The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate. Mina has one of the coveted cabin crew spots onboard and takes off whilst Adam is left with Sophia and his own demons to deal with....
