About this deal

Via a cut-out below the slide you will quickly know which position it is in; also on the opposite side of the mode switch you can find this type of slot that helps you find the button by feel. I work security for my church and this light works well for low light needs and blinding bright for dealing with those that need to be escorted out. Those Li-Ion batteries (in smartphones) are guaranteed to have at least 80% of original capacity after 500 recharges, so roughly 2 years. The charging feature suits us well as the torch is always kept in a handy place and always charged up and ready to use. This can be accessed from on/off in mode 1, or from off in mode 2, and to change between strobe and turbo press the mode button while still holding down the lever button.

Though if you’re considering the TM20K then quick access to lots of lumens is going to be more important than a beautiful light output. Designed with cutting-edge carbon fiber technology, this energy brick is your ultimate companion for on-the-go charging. That means each one produces just over 1000 lumens – something that’s fairly standard in flashlights these days.

The brightness levels are operated by a metal power button on the tail end and a mode button on the side of the tail end. The glass of the Nitecore TM20K comes with a protective film to be removed before use and, tied to the clip, a label with the warning to put the flashlight in the holster with the block inserted.

The tactical button always works the same way and isn’t affected by switching between daily and tactical modes – it’s only affected by lockout mode, which stops it working. In my sample, received for the review, to unlock the flashlight just move the lever to the desired position 1 or 2 (the sales package, as written in the manual, should have another procedure for unlocking the flashlight once the it is locked). Now it locks the same way but unlocking requires holding the mode button at the same time as moving the toggle switch. This size just barely still fits in a large (jacket) pocket, but thanks to the long clip you can also attach it to your jeans pocket or belt.

I have been using the flashlight for a month and already one of the buttons that is responsible for maximum power has broken.

The TM20K is a member of the Nitecore T(iny) M(onster) collection and these lights were given their names for a reason because, despite their size, they excel in light intensity or reach. This light is all about lighting up all around you very brightly and can’t really be used for slowly sweeping across the horizon, looking for animals or hidden paths. As mentioned before the light will only start with the central LED light in the middle; only for the three subsequent modes the remaining 18 LED lights in the edge of the head will work as well. One of the most important features for a light like this is the lockout; yes the ‘not outputting any light’ feature. It sadly is not a straight line, but rather slowly falling to a 220 min point where it started to fail rapidly. We will collect the Import Fees Deposit at the time of your purchase and use it to cover applicable taxes and duties on import.

The TM20K also comes with an inconspicuous cord: don't throw it out, you need it to attach the lanyard.Equipped with the latest TurboReady™ Technology, the NITECORE TM9K TAC is an ultra compact tactical flashlight to emit a max output of 9,800 lumens with a built-in 5,000mAh Li-ion battery and the USB-C charging port.
