About this deal

There's no shortcut - you have to give your body time to adapt - but as mentioned with the calves you really might benefit from some stretching as tight calves can cause problems elsewhere. High-quality dog supplements can help with the game plan for soothing, healing, and supporting optimum joint health moving forward. One of my older males lifts his leg every time, but the other one has some back issues and these days he mostly stretches. I tried to keep at a moderate pace for him and we stopped a few times on the trail to give him a short brake.

Over the years I've done a lot of my long training runs as LDWA events, which I would recommend to anyone.

Excalibur is the tough trail event that traverses the spectacular Clwydian Range in North Wales steeped in ancient Arthurian legend. Mind, there's a bit of self selection going on with - the older guys with problems have probably stopped now. I have 2 leggy dogs and they both stand rather than cock their legs most of the time because they save it up.

I told myself I'd carry on until I enjoyed it (out of stubbornness more than anything) and would then review the situation at that stage. But a lot of dogs will hold it until they get home and an adolescent dog may not want to advertise his presence to the big boys. Finally, there is a detailed and elaborative advice section which includes an A-Z of Collie-related behaviour problems with straightforward, practical guidelines on how to deal with these.I've had the pleasure of viewing him chase deer from elevated positions and he never gets close and gives up after a good run, think its just for fun, then he runs back, looking pleased, as if to say 'haven't I done a good job'. It is pretty common to have to work on traffic with collies as they will lunge and herd the moving cars also some can be quite reactive and not want to be near other dogs. The only problem we really have is he never wants to potty anywhere but in his backyard and will hold out for what seems like forever. The boy was very nervous, didn't like sudden movement or loud noise, barked LOTS at nothing and was generally a bit difficult.
