About this deal

Martin Melhuish (23 April 1977). "Juno 1977". Billboard. Nielsen Business Media, Inc. pp.76–. ISSN 0006-2510. Since 2000, Charles has performed throughout Europe where disco music and her hit singles have been reappraised, and she has become a popular live performer. Charles featured in the Top 5 of the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart with "Higher" in 2006. The song was produced by Sanny X. She made a guest appearance with The Producers at their 2007 concert, singing " Slave to the Rhythm". In October 2007, Charles recorded "Hide and Seek" with producer Ian Levine for the album Disco 2008. Her latest album, Listen 2 the Music was released in March 2008. Biddu's collaboration continued on a future album and another song hit: "Dance Little Lady Dance". In total, Charles spent 42 weeks on the UK Singles Chart in 1976 alone, mainly due to these two records. [9] During this time, her touring band included Trevor Horn (for a while her boyfriend), [10] Geoff Downes, and Bruce Woolley. [11]

Album• This film was inspired by the film "The Master Touch" (1972), starring Kirk Douglas. The Hindi film itself was remade in Tamil as "Viduthalai" (1986), starring Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Vishnuvardhan and Madhavi. Simpson, Dave (30 October 2018). "The Buggles: how we made Video Killed the Radio Star". The Guardian . Retrieved 21 December 2018. The Radio Times wrote, "the dance sequences are fine, but the poor production values ruin the look of the film"; [4] while TV Guide called it "a trite film". [5] However, Sky Movies wrote, "Terence Morgan makes the best impression, as a sponger as smooth as he is nasty, in this ballet-orientated story, tailored to the talents of Britain's then screen wonder child, Mandy Miller. It bases its appeal on a blend of small-girl sentiment, highly coloured melodramatics and ballet (the dance ensembles are very well done). Mai Zetterling and Guy Rolfe provide rather limp support to Mandy's undeniable charm, but the story's fiery climax is most effective." [6] Box Office [ edit ]Miller made two popular single records: "Snowflakes" and " Nellie the Elephant", the latter produced by George Martin.

Hum Tumhen Chahte Hain Aise - Lyricist Indeevar had originally written this song for the film "Anand Ashram" (1977) but filmmaker Shakti Samanta had rejected it.[ 6][ 7] Mandy Miller (born Carmen Isabella Miller in 1944) is an English former child actress who made a number of films in the 1950s. She is also remembered for her recording of the 1956 song " Nellie the Elephant". In 1962, at the age of 18, Miller gave up acting and moved to New York City to become an au pair. [2] Career [ edit ]Her career tended to involve serious acting roles rather than comedy, even in her first small part in The Man in the White Suit, where she was a sad-faced little girl who helped Alec Guinness escape from his pursuers. Song• Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye - This was composer Biddu's first Hindi film song. Portions of the song bore similarities with pop songs he had composed before - "Kung Fu Fighting" (1974), performed by Carl Douglas, and "Dance Little Lady Dance" (1976), performed by Tina Charles.[ 2][ 3][ 4] Prima ballerina Nina Gordon is being financially exploited by her husband Mark (Terence Morgan). On the night of her triumphant Royal Opera House debut, she discovers he is also being unfaithful. Distraught, she leaves the party they were attending. However, Mark pulls up in their car and she gets in and he drives off at speed into the night. There is a car crash and Nina's leg is badly broken. Tina Charles (born Tina Hoskins; 10 March 1954) is an English singer who achieved success as a disco artist in the mid to late 1970s. Her most successful single was the UK no. 1 hit " I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)" in 1976. [1] Early life [ edit ]

Whitburn, Joel (2004). Joel Whitburn's Hot Dance/Disco 1974–2003. Menomonee Falls, Wisc.: Billboard/Record Research. p.55. ISBN 0-89820-156-X. In 2010, Charles was signed by the British writer and producer Carl M Cox to his PMG Music production and record label. Other notable acts that have been signed by Cox's label are Sinitta and Amanda Lear. Charles' first single with PMG, "Your Love Is My Light", was released physically on 7 November 2011 and digitally on 14 November. Also in 2010, she went on tour with 5000 Volts, the band with which she experienced her first hit record. [14] Personal life [ edit ]This film was released shortly after the death of Indira Gandhi's son, Sanjay Gandhi. The film opened with an almost 2-minute long eulogy to him in English in Feroz Khan's voice. In the eulogy, Feroz Khan dedicated the "proceeds of the premieres of Bangalore and Delhi to the memory of the sleeping prince". Max Webb is fundraising for St Catherine's Hospice (Crawley)". Justgiving.com. 19 July 2013 . Retrieved 30 March 2017. Learning that she'll never dance again, Nina is abandoned by Mark. But with the help of a sympathetic doctor (Guy Rolfe), Nina recovers the use of her legs, and begins to live her life vicariously through her talented daughter (Mandy Miller). When Mark reenters Nina's life, intending to take control of the daughter's dancing career, he finds the tables are turned on him. Corbett, Ronnie; Nobbs, David (2006). And It's Goodnight From Him...:The Autobiography of the Two Ronnies. Michael Joseph. p. 92.

She also had lighter roles, such as in Raising a Riot (1955) starring Kenneth More. Some of her other co-stars were Joan Greenwood, Cecil Parker, Godfrey Tearle, Thora Hird and Sam Wanamaker. In 1954, she had a starring role in Adventure in the Hopfields, a film made for the Children's Film Foundation. Charles' big break came soon after in 1975, when Indian-British composer/producer Biddu, who had just enjoyed success with the disco song " Kung Fu Fighting" for Carl Douglas, produced the singles "You Set My Heart on Fire" and " I Love to Love (But My Baby Loves to Dance)" for her. The latter single spent three weeks at number one on the UK chart in March 1976, and was a major hit around the world. It won a Juno Award in 1977. [8]Predictable, stolid movie equivalent of a 'Women's Own' short story. Wet Sunday afternoon fare if you have nothing better to do - which I obviously haven't. Hum Tumhen Chahte Hain Aise - The film version of this song did not include the antara sung by Kanchan. She put in a much-praised performance in her second film, another Ealing production, Mandy (1952), playing a deaf-mute child whose parents (played by Terence Morgan and Phyllis Calvert) did not know how to cope with bringing her up. This briefly made her a leading actress. [3] Further hits like "Love Me Like a Lover", "Dr Love", "Rendezvous" and "Love Bug" made her a pop star in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, but she was never able to achieve success in the US. Her only solo recording to chart significantly in the US was "You Set My Heart on Fire," which reached number 3 on Record World's 'Disco File Top 20' chart in the autumn of 1975. [12]
