About this deal

The digital pressure gauge with backlight and LED work light are also super handy if you find yourself having to top up your tyres after dark. Neat touches include the niche to keep a valve cap, a cable to charge the unit from the car’s 12V socket, and the ability to power up a phone from its USB socket. Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). From everyone’s favourite tyre maker/world renowned reviewer of restaurants is this, the Michelin Programmable Superfast 4x4/SUV Tyre Inflator, and you can tell from the get-go that it means business — it looks less than a tyre inflator than it does something from Star Trek.

Halfords Autocentres Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 755309) and acts as a credit intermediary and not a lender, offering credit products provided by a limited number of finance providers, including Klarna Bank AB (publ)].

There's a digital display plus you can pre-set the pressure and just leave it to get in with the job. It probably took longer to type in that mouthful of a name than for the unit to inflate our test tyre from flat. It completed the 22psi to 32psi sprint in 1 minute and 8 seconds, making it quicker than two of the inflators we’ve reviewed, but 26 seconds slower than the Michelin. The inflator comes with a mains plug and 12V adaptor - can be used cordless or from in-car 12V socket.

This takes an absolute age to charge from new (5 hours to get tom the full 3 bars), but once going, I was able to sort out the tyres on all of our cars, with that one charge, without using the car battery via the 12V socket.Plus, the Makita inflator features a memory function, which logs the pressure set from the previous time you used it.

The max pressure comes in high at 100psi and it’s worth noting there isn’t an auto switch off feature, so be sure to stop manually when you’ve reached the correct pressure. That means that the difference between, say, 30psi and 32psi is just a couple of millimetres, making it a tad difficult to know exactly how much pressure you’re putting into your tyres — an issue exacerbated by the fact that the machine moves around a lot as it inflates. The auto-stop feature guarantees accuracy, itll shut off when the desired PSI has been reached, meaning you wont over-inflate.Its futuristic looks are an indication of its performance – the Michelin was one of the quietest machines we tested, emitting a low hum rather than a panicked scream, as some do. Late or missing payments may have serious consequences for you and cause you serious money problems. What I did find though, was that having set this and the number being reached, it continued to pump. I charged this product up from the main electric supply overnight upon receipt and used it the following day to top up all five tyres on a pick-up. e don’t be suckered into paying a premium for a product with unnecessary features and likewise don’t be fooled into what appears to be a bargain but actually doesn’t do the job you need it to do.
