About this deal

I use to get excited when lenses have perfect corner sharpness, but honestly in the real world that makes no difference in most situations. For most of the shooting that I do I have found the F2 aperture to be plenty and the bokeh/DOF is enough for me as well. Through a number of firmware upgrades and the release of new cameras, most of these issues are history. If you’re concerned only with bokeh and aren’t held back by manual focusing, you might enjoy the Mitakon 35mm f. I opted for the 23mm f/2 instead for my travels before eventually adding the Fujifilm 35mm f/2 to my collection.

It has a compact construction, small size and half the amount of glass when compared to full-frame lenses (with the lens being only designed for APS-C sensors). But this is looking at the reported weights and a small package scale, in terms of perceivable weight, these two lenses honestly – to me – feel like they weigh the same.Precise aperture control As well as being beautifully designed, the aperture control on the XF35mmF1. Photographers coming from the Nikon or Canon world of standard lenses will be tickled by the physical aperture ring for use in manual or aperture priority modes (otherwise, just set the ring to 'A' for auto).

And even this Minolta camera, which was once my father’s and still has film in it from has a 50mm lens attached. Once you get to know it though, once you agree to be patient and accept its quirks, it can provide you with some absolutely amazing images. is not a dedicated macro lens, primarily due to its minimum focusing distance and magnification capabilities. We traveled for six weeks in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand in early 2017, and due to space and weight constraints in my backpack, I only brought two lenses, the XF 35mm f/1. The images just punch you with so much detail and tonal information and the colors and bokeh always feel so deep and rich. While it’s a little bigger than the f/2 version, it’s actually very light, making it a decent candidate for any Fuji X-Series body. The focusing ring is damped just enough to allow for manual focus, with good friction on the knurling allowing for manual fine-tuning. Color Rendition: true-to-life colors with rich tonal details that are coupled with healthy global contrast, give the images coming from the Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1. While other lenses are ideal for capturing distant subjects or immersive shots, this lens helps you capture the overall atmosphere of the event.
