About this deal

There were some small aspects that I didn't fully love, but really nothing worth mentioning or pointing out, especially since it's YA and I'm an adult and I think the "bulk" of my issues came down to that, so I'm rounding up to 5 stars. Sing Me To Sleep was a superb debut in that I couldn't put this down and that's pretty epic for a first book. Added to that, I'm so glad this is going to be a series because I need more of Saoirse and Hayes, more of the world and the delicious writing. I would recommend it to fans of sirens and readers who enjoyed The Cruel Prince and To Kill A Kingdom. The Cruel Prince meets To Kill a Kingdom in this seductive YA fantasy debut, in which a siren must choose between protecting her family and following her heart in a prejudiced kingdom where her existence is illegal. Trapped by her deadly double life, Saoirse can’t leave the palace until she saves her sister . . . but who will save her from herself?

This design gives a simple yet gorgeous depiction of the storyline, as it shows the main character, Saoirse, in the middle of rippling water. The genre of the story is also nicely conveyed through the illustration and elaborate text font. How to adequately put into words how much I loved this book? I think the fact that I devoured it in about four hours attests to that fact, but I shall try to elaborate on exactly what it was that captured me so. Saoirse was also very manipulative. This was interesting because this ties in with siren folklore, manipulating men to their deaths. The problem I had with this was that pretty much her every action was to manipulate, and no one, not even loved ones were spared either. Even when she wasn't actively being a siren. It was the author's voice and Saoirse that really shone in the book for me. Absolutely captivating!! Which suits a book about an irresistible siren! 😁

Sing Me to Sleep is a story about Saoirse, a siren in hiding, protecting her little sister by going to work for the crown prince. There was lots of building chemistry in this read but minimal action. I see and hope for more connection ahead. I enjoyed seeing chinks of who Saoirse could be if she let someone in. I cannot wait for more. Saoirse is at war with herself — her natural instinct as a siren is to kill and she hears that small voice in her mind constantly demanding it of her — and that struggle is one of the aspects of her character that make her so intriguing. What will she choose? Is it her nature that makes her do what she does? Or is it that deep down, she actually wants to do it? We sympathize with her struggle and read on to see if she will win her battle or succumb. Saoirse is a character that I was invested in from the very beginning, and I can’t wait to see where her adventures take her in the sequel.

Wow, that was really easy to unknot. Super convenient that they didn’t tie her hands together. This book is idiotic. Saoirse is an amazing FMC, I loved her so much! She's grumpy, she's serious, she's very protective of those she loves, and she's careful and smart. Dami Olukoya does a brilliant job of creating a natural, authentic voice that conveys the content and emotions within this story. Besides this, the different character voices made the listening experience even more engaging and entertaining.
