About this deal

Maryse: So I’m reading “Wait For It” and I gotta say… the build-up and slow burn of it is pretty much… perfection. THIS is what I’m talking about when I say I want to have to work for it, and I LOVE that I’m only in HER head and I have NO clue what he’s thinking. AND I LOVE that he’s so BELIEVABLY brooding and stand-offish and there are no innuendos from his part. I could only try my best and hope it was good enough. Then again, wasn’t that the story to everyone’s lives? “Everything is going to be okay. I promise.” Diana. I love this girl with all of my heart. She's such a good rolemodel for the children and I can't really express how much I love her because I love how witty she was and how much she loved the kids and how she stands up for them makes my cold emotionless heart happy. Dallas... mmm mmm mmm. Dallas. He was such a great male lead. For a book that has depth and content, you expect characters like Dallas, but that doesn't make him any less wonderful. He has values and a devotion to the community and he TAKES CARE OF HIS GRANDMA. Do I need to say more?

how did this line trigger the absolute wildest of waterworks. i am crying just writing the line down. tbh the entirety of chapter 12 had me violently sobbing. It wasn't the MZ book I loved the most, but it definitely was the one I felt closer to me and the one that gave me more emotions. Amy– It’s crazy this book is a long read because it didn’t feel like it at all. This book keeps you hooked as a reader and I was very happy with the flow of things. You shouldn’t sell yourself short. There’re some people who you’ll never make happy no matter what you do.” I hated when they asked me things I really didn’t know how to answer. I didn’t want to lie either, which just made it that much more complicated.”I’m Diana, your neighbor,” I explained, because though we’d met twice, apparently he still didn’t remember me. If that didn’t make a girl feel good, I didn’t know what would. You didn’t know what love was until someone was willing to give up what they loved the most for you. But it was also never letting them make that choice, either.”

Dallas has a few things on his plate at the moment. His douchewaffle younger brother is living with him (sometimes) and while he’d like to turf him out, he doesn’t because of longstanding guilt he feels. Dallas is also going through a divorce with his wife he’s been separated from for years. what can i say about this book?! i don’t have the words to convey how beautiful this was, it deserves all the love and praise in the entire world. this story is so raw, emotional and beautiful, i loved every second of it. mz always knows how to gradually build-up the friendship and chemistry in a way that grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go to the very end. diana and dallas’ relationship was so beautifully written, it felt incredibly realistic. i’m just going to say the slow burn and build-up was every bit of perfect! 🤌🏼 Jen: Some authors can write and then some authors can WRITE!! Mariana Zapata!! I cried and cried when Wait for it was over! My husband said Jennifer !! Why would you read a book with a sad ending! I said it has a happy ending! I am just so sad it is over!! I feel like I know those characters! What a beautiful book. How can you fall in love with characters in a book?? She makes it so easy! Ahhhhh!!! This though was agonisingly slow, and even though I enjoyed the listen (Callie Dalton doing a wonderful job as always), I felt that this one was a wee bit dragged out even for MZ hence the four stars. This has moved into my top favorites. The characters are strong, relatable, and impossible not to love.
