One of the great features of this vacuum is that it comes with six suction settings. These are designed to cover surfaces such as carpets, hard floors, and delicate fabrics. There’s also a quiet mode, which sacrifices suction power for a quieter noise output. The C2 and C3 Complete PowerLine vacuums use a combination of Miele’s HyClean bags and AirClean filter. The bags trap larger particles, while the AirClean filter is designed to capture smaller allergens. Fortunately, the mid-level settings still offer great cleaning performance, and there’s also an inlet valve if you need to adjust suction further. The tools included depends on the version you buy. Both C2 and C3 Complete PowerLine models have a basic tool set containing a dusting brush, crevice tool, and upholstery nozzle.

Unlike the Pure Red, the Cat & Dog has a charcoal-based Active AirClean filter that helps to absorb odours. It also has the upgraded Turboteq floorhead. This has a rotating brushbar that’s powered by airflow, allowing for a deeper clean on carpeted areas.The hose on the Miele Pure Red isn’t long enough to clean an entire flight of stairs, but it can stretch halfway. This means you can clean half from the bottom and half from the top without needing to balance it on a step.

The wide 30cm floorhead means you can cover large areas in less time, but we don’t think it’s as good for getting into tight corners or around furniture. For comparison, the Samsung Jet 90 Pet has a narrower 25cm floorhead, which is less efficient but more manoeuvrable. It really comes down to personal preference – and the C3 certainly doesn’t feel difficult to steer.Emptying is as simple as removing the sealed bag and putting it into the bin. There’s even a colour-coded system inside the vac to make it easier to insert the correct dust bag. Miele has almost perfected cylinder vacuum cleaner design, so it’s no surprise that the Pure Power looks similar to others in the C3 range. The company produces a range of cylinder vacuums, but both the C2 and C3 have proven to be powerful, durable, and provide excellent cleaning performance.
