About this deal

I also learnt more about the power of other woman's perceptions on women's decisions about how they might dress and behave, and a closer view on being in a relationship with a man, from a woman's point of view.

For the first time, 100 brave and beautiful women reveal their bodies and stories on their own terms, talking about how they feel about pleasure, sex, pain, trauma, birth, motherhood, menstruation, menopause, gender, sexuality and simply being a woman. I decided to create Bare Reality because I have always been fascinated by the dichotomy between women’s personal lives and how they are depicted in the media; between how we feel about breasts privately and how they are presented for public consumption. There has been so much public debate about breasts recently, from Free the Nipple to No More Page 3, from breastfeeding selfies on Facebook to Rihanna on the red carpet.

I am in the non-breastfed demographic so that could explain my fascination with all things female (chests) or perhaps I just like what I do not have. I think the time has never been better to hear how women really feel about their breasts, and to see how they really look. Intimate, visually refreshing, maybe even surprising, Bare Reality will make you reconsider how you think and feel about your own body, and those of the women in your life. Breasts are catalysts for discussing intimate aspects of women’s lives, such as growing up, sexuality, motherhood, breastfeeding, relationships, body image, health, cancer and ageing.

Laura Dodsworth's Kickstarter campaign to finance Bare Reality achieved its funding target within one day and the video accompanying the project was viewed 1. Laura and the creation of 'Womanhood' were the subject of a documentary for Channel 4, '100 Vaginas', which received 5 star reviews and has been broadcast around the world. Women from all walks of life took part, aged from 19 to 101, sized AAA to K, from Buddhist nun to burlesque dancer. The Bare Reality series has been featured and reviewed in The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Mail, The Sun, The Mirror, The Independent, The Evening Standard, Metro, i paper, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Grazia, Stylist, DIVA, Gay Times, Huff Post, BBC World, ITV’s Loose Women, BBC Womans Hour, BBC Radio London, BBC London News, Channel 5 News, Radio 5 Live, Talk Radio, LBC, and many international newspapers, magazines, radio and television programmes.Just as Bare Reality: 100 women, their breasts, their stories presented the un-airbrushed truth about breasts for women, Manhood: The Bare Reality shows us the spectrum of 'normal', revealing men's penises and bodies in all their diversity and glory, dispelling body image anxiety and myths. Perfecto para trabajar con mujeres que han superado un cáncer o que tienen problemas para aceptar su propio cuerpo. This book goes some way to answering some of those questions, and also highlights women's positive and negative impressions of themselves, attitudes of others, and the role breasts play in British culture - impressions that interestingly, often conflict with some of the other contributors.

Pictures of topless women with their commentary about their breasts, showing what real breasts look like on real women with voice and humanity as priority (as opposed to air-brushing, underwires or uplifts). When I first saw Laura Dodsworth's project, Bare Reality - which shares 100 unretouched, anonymous pictures of real women's breasts - I was completely fascinated. This is a fascinating, insightful, and reassuring read, exposing so many experiences and insecurities in a brilliant way. They are telling fascinating stories of their lives, prompted by an intimate encounter with an obviously talented and sensitive photographer who gives them the freedom to do so.I guess also that the nature of a project like this relies on volunteers with an interest in the subject, so may not get a full cross-section of women. I do not read these types of books, SF, Horror, Computer science, Cycle Maintenance, that is my type of thing. From smooth Barbie dolls to internet porn, girls and women grow up with a very narrow view of what they should look like, even though in reality there is an enormous range. I feel tender about my own experience as a woman and full of admiration and warmth for female experience.

My books Bare Reality: 100 women, their breasts, their stories, Manhood: The Bare Reality and Womanhood: The Bare Reality attracted worldwide media coverage and critical acclaim. We meet, young, old, deformed, trans and without a doubt 100 of the most beautiful women I have read about. It gave me insight into women's changing relationships with their own bodies, in particular - the transformative power of breastfeeding!

das Buch 'Bare Reality' ist ein wunderbares Werk aus fotografischer Sicht und vor allem von Inhalt her.
