The active ingredients 250mg Sodium Alginate, 133.5mg Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate & 80mg Calcium Carbonate. Each tablet contains sodium alginate 500 mg and potassium bicarbonate 100 mg as the active ingredients. Gaviscon Products brings fast, soothing and long lasting relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn, acid indigestion and sour stomach. Gaviscon contains alginic acid and sodium bicarbonate and the combination of the alginic acid and bicarbonate will create a a foam barrier which floats on the stomach acid. This barrier helps reduce the number of reflux episodes and provides longer lasting action against heartburn than ordinary antacids. How does it work? I hope you will have no need for these but if, like me, you suffer from gastric reflux they are the best product around. If on the other hand its just normal heartburn regular Gaviscon will do the job fine.
