BBF19 presents Reni Eddo-Lodge - Crescent Arts Centre - Belfast

In Conversation With Emma DabiriIn 2014 Reni Eddo-Lodge, who was already an award-winning journalist, posted a piece on her blog entitled, “Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race”.Born out of her frustrations with the way in which discussions of race and racism in Britain were being led by those who weren’t affected by it, her words hit a nerve and the post went viral.Galvanised by the clear hunger for open discussion, Reni decided to dig deeper. The consequent multi-award winning book, Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race explores issues from eradicated black history to the political purpose of white dominance, whitewashed feminism to the inextricable link between class and race.We are thrilled to have Reni join us at the Belfast Book Festival to discuss, in conversation with Emma Dabiri, her illuminating, searing and essential exploration of what it is to be a person of colour in Britain today.
