About this deal

This is not to say that you should refrain from performing acts of kindness towards others; the point is that you should be mentally prepared for ingratitude. As long as you shine, give, produce, and have an effect upon others, disapproval and condemnation will be your lot in life. I will not be preoccupied with what is to come because tomorrow is nothing and has not yet been created.

While at times we may believe that true happiness comes around less frequently than those of turmoil, we have to remember that we are human. At a time in which the Muslims are beset with trials from every periphery and within, comes this heartening book rooted in the commandments of Allah (swt), the Sunnah and the excellent guidance and examples of the Muslims that have come before us. Today I will strive to be obedient to my Lord, pray in the best manner possible, do more voluntary acts of righteousness, recite the Qur’an, and read beneficial books. The book is full of practical advice on how we as Muslims can replace our sadness and unhappiness with a more positive and fulfilling outlook in life.

Our varied colours, languages, talents, and abilities are signs from our Creator, the Almighty, All-Glorious, so do not disbelieve in them. Remove evil whispers from our hearts and replace them with light, destroy falsehood with truth, and crush the evil plots of the devil with your army of angels. In a time of pervasive trials, “Don’t Be Sad” draws on Allah’s commandments, the Sunnah, and the wisdom of past Muslims. I did not add any footnotes to the book, thus making it easier for the reader to peruse without interruption.

Aid ibn Abdullah al-Qarni provides practical advice on the Islamic manner of dealing with grief, depression, sadness, and disappointments. You will never completely feel at ease until you firmly believe that Allah has already preordained all matters. I will plant goodness in my heart and extract from it the roots of evil – such as pride, jealousy, and hypocrisy. Why should you be engrossed in thoughts about the future, especially since you do not know whether you will even see tomorrow? Live for today; during this day, you should pray with a wakeful heart, recite the Qur’an with understanding, and remember Allah (the Exalted) with sincerity.

If you see that the desert extends for miles and miles, then know that beyond that distance are green meadows with plentiful shade. Full of inspiring anecdotes from the lives of prophets, scholars, and other people, and their victory over life’s turmoil and tests, this authentic Islamic book urges readers to adopt a positive outlook on life. The author illustrates through the Qur'an and Sunnah how with an Islamic outlook, one can find a remedy for every modern spiritual ailment. Give to the needy, defend the oppressed, help those in distress, and visit the sick; you will find that happiness surrounds you from all directions. one of my favorite quote is “Most human beings are ungrateful to their Lord, so what treatment should you and i expect?
