About this deal

As a parent, it is scary to think that my child might someday be susceptible to this, and even scarier to think of the things I can’t even imagine that will come across his path. Modern Hysteria offers the reader a glimpse into the lives of characters that are plagued by isolation, fear, desperation and trauma. With our obsession as a society with being in the know about trends and challenges, there are no doubts that some of the more underground challenges are dangerous and even deadly. This story was something that I thought I could anticipate the twists and turns in, and some of them I could but the ending was definitely different than I had imagined it when I first started and I loved that.

I don’t have kids but I’m even more scared and sad for every kid that uses the internet than I was before reading this.

When I was a kid, if I disrespected someone or did something I shouldn’t (this includes common human decency), I got my ass kicked.

As someone who grew up in the age of Internet challenges, this hit close to home and it’s horror comes from how possible it easily can be. It also made me think about how society, social media, the web all gives a sense of invincibility in the way that we are allowed to sneak and hide and look at disturbing things even commit disturbing acts and if done correctly we don't have to take any responsibility for the things we do or say because we feel protected and justified in our actions because we have a video or a screenshot. There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this one and how much I hated that it had to end. There's gore, scenes that make you DEEPLY uncomfortable, devastation, and ultimately justice (at what cost? Modern Hysteria - Aron BeauregardDerek has had his family ripped from him by an internet suicide challenge, run by the enigmatic Mr.

In the era of viral social media challenges, some funny and some downright deadly Aron took that and elevated it. A story about a very scary and real issue on the Internet, it's such an amazing tool but it's also such a scary and dangerous one. This one will stick with me for a while because the things in this book happen daily to people and ultimately get passed over and ignored and that to me is what is truly horrific. Aron Beauregard brings you another tale of depravity and gore that pushes the boundaries – as we’ve come to expect. There are never truly happy endings with tales like these but somehow I felt peace and closure with the final chapter. Giving any more away would be a huge disservice to the many twists and turns throughout this thrilling and depraved story. An avid supporter of horror art and illustration, Aron has made it his standard to hire illustrators for every book that he puts out under his brand AB Horror.
