KEEP IT ZESTY Issue 001 LAUNCH:Working with mental health and addiction charity The Hope Centre, we’re launching a special issue of our new Zine: ‘KEEP IT ZESTY’, a zine that acts as a platform to raise awareness of mental health and harm reduction [for the music industry] by showcasing the work of illustrators and artists we like.Launch Party Info:The launch party is ticketed and limited to 50 people, but the tickets are free so please make sure you get yourself a spot! Ticket includes a free copy of KEEP IT ZESTY Issue 001, a goodie bag , free snacks, and a seat to watch our panel discussion. The event is being supported by The Hope Centre through its work with the Social Change Initiative.Mental health awareness and harm reduction is something close to our hearts as it’s something that has affected most of us personally or through friends and family in our lifetime. We want to use the Zine and our Issue launch parties as a platform to discuss ways that we can make positive changes to our mental health in the industry, and ways to look after ourselves and the people around us.Panel Discussion:Our panel will discuss running a small business in the creative industry, the hurdles and impacts that this can have on your mental health, and best practices and tips that they’ve learned to tackle this.The panel will be chaired by Jonathan Hodge from The Hope Centre. Panellists: -Hannah VailOisin O’BrienNuala ConveryScott RileyHannah Vail (Han)Owner of Han Clothing, a local fashion brand which is now stocked in Topshop. Hannah Vail is a 2016 fashion and textiles graduate of Ulster University Belfast and resident designer in the Fashion and Textile Design Centre.Oisin O’Brien (DSNT, Visual Spectrum)Oisin O’Brien is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist & director or DSNT and Visual Spectrum (FKA Guerrilla Shout). He has won awards for his installation based art including the RBMA AVA Festival bursary award. Oisin has over a decade of experience in running his own businesses in the music & creative industries. Oisin has delivered visual experiences & installations for many festivals including Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, Berlin atonal, AVA Festival, Planet Love & frequently enjoys playing with lights.Nuala Convery (DSNT, Visual Spectrum)Nuala is an award winning fashion design & marketing graduate, and multi-disciplinary artist / designer. She illustrates and creates large scale street art pieces under the name ‘Wee. Nuls’. Nuala acts as assistant director of DSNT & Visual Spectrum (FKA Guerrilla Shout). She helps manage the production for the large scale events VS & DSNT produce, and has 7 years of experience working in the events industry.Scott Riley (Causeway Living)Scott is the only certified Wim Hof Method trainer in Northern Ireland. Scott went from being 100 lbs over weight, in total physical pain and completely transformed himself.He started with a 60 day juice fast, experienced Ayahuasca in the Peruvian Amazon to treat both mental & auto-immune conditions. He then personally trained with The Iceman (Wim Hof) and now teaches others the method, an amazing tool for stress reduction through balancing the nervous system.DSNT 7th Birthday:It’s DSNT 7th Birthday party that evening so a nice warm up for later on that night.
