WW19 ~ HMNI Clothes Swap - Oh Yeah Music Centre - Belfast

Join Help Musicians NI for a size and gender inclusive clothes swap as part of Women’s Work 2019! Attendees are welcome to bring up to five items per person and will receive 1 token per item. There will be a minimum donation of £4 to HMNI to take part, and all left over clothes will be given to charity. Please make sure the items you bring to the swap are clean and undamaged.Clothes swapping is an ethical and sustainable way to revamp your wardrobe without contributing to the detrimental effect the fast fashion industry is having on our environment:The carbon emissions generated by the clothing of the average UK household is equivalent to driving an average modern car 6,000 miles. (WRAP 2011)On average, the global water footprint of a UK household’s clothing exceeds 200,000 litres per year – enough to fill over 1,000 bathtubs. (WRAP 2011)The global apparel and footwear industry accounts for 8% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions releasing four metric gigatonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. (Quantis 2018)If the industry doesn’t change, the apparel industry’s climate impact is expected to increase 49% by 2030. (Global Fashion Agenda 2017)
