Peer Critique: Approaches to Socially Engaged PracticesWith Sara GreavuSaturday 25th May, 12pm - 5pmVAI Belfast Offices£20 / £10 (VAI Members)This session will provide a vital space for artists to show and discuss their work with peers and experienced practitioners in a constructive forum. Participating artists will make short presentations on their own practice after which a constructive discussion will be led by Sara Greavu (Curator of Public Programmes - CCA Derry~Londonderry).About Sara GreavuSara Greavu works with artists and others to make exhibitions, projects and texts. In her role as Head of Public Programmes in CCA Derry~Londonderry and as an independent curator, she has developed and delivered a range of collaborative projects including exhibitions, research, engaged public programmes, educational platforms, and events such as lecture-performances, workshops, symposia, screening seasons, and reading groups. Current projects include Knowledge is Made here, an alternative pedagogical platform realised with Andrea Francke, and a project in development considering the history and legacy of Derry Film and Video Collective. She is interested in how art can recognise broader social structures, compassing art and artists in relation to these other fields of inquiry and other axes of power and privilege.
