About this deal

Get ready to cook up a storm in the kitchen, without fuss or mess. With little or no oil required, you can now cook with confidence while retaining that delicious taste you crave. All with zero guilt. Russell Hobbs is excited to offer a stylish, easy-to-use range of air fryers to suit every level of cook. Little or no oil Cooking food in an air fryer requires a bit of a shake every now and then, so you can see the progress as you're cooking anyway. A note on chips. Personally, I have kitchen experience, so making chips is sort of my forte, however in researching what others found of the Tower I came across people decrying its ability to cook hand cut chips - I come to the defence of the Tower T1705 here because my chips were great. Those struggling would do better to double fry, at first a low and then a high temperature, for the best results. Don't believe everything you read in the manual. The Tower T17005 is a slightly larger, slightly more powerful version of the T17023 Air Fryer. However, these slight increases in size and power make the T17005 a great choice for families or households looking for a new, healthier way to make their meals.

Ideal for home-made chips or wedges as well as meat, spring rolls, stuffed vegetables and quiche, it can cook a huge variety of foods.

The simplicity of the Salter is not to its detriment. Included in the box is just the machine and its manual. You can plug it in and start cooking straight away, but we'd recommend doing a little 'dry' run or two first, as the Salter needs to get some of that 'new air fryer' smell out of the way, as all new devices tend to. A handy adjustable timer control and power/ready indicator light make it simple and easy to use, and when you’re done. Features and Benefits A Russell Hobbs air fryer can save you up to as much as 68% energy* compared to a conventional oven. So not only can you save money on eating in, but it can also help reduce your energy bills.

Typically an air fryer will provide a sous-version of deep-fried foods. The secret to air fryers is that they can do so much more. From dehydration to defrosting, grilling to baking. These gadgets are a powerful little piece of kit, far smaller than a conventional oven, but with much of the same abilities and at a lower running cost. About the Tower T17005 While a timer is included, and more on that later, the Salter doesn't come with a shake reminder as is found on more sophisticated models. Shaking food whilst cooking in an air fryer is essential - unless you're baking a cake - to ensure an even cook. Simple to use– The adjustable timer and power & ready indicator light give you straightforward, precise control.Easy to use and easy to clean. Our air fryers come with removable crisping plates and baskets so you can simply remove them and pop them in the dishwasher. And with little or no oil to dispose of, they’ll be no fighting over whose turn it is to do the dishes! The capacity of the T1705 is 3.2 litres, this is a decent size for feeding a family with. Ravenous eaters might prefer a 5 litre version, but then space starts to become an issue. Tower provides an instruction manual and a little recipe booklet. We'd recommend using some kitchen sense when approaching the recipes, these are almost an afterthought, much better instructions are available, as we'll come onto later. A better quality plastic might have been used, but again this is still a relatively budget air fryer from a relatively budget brand. We're not talking about Phillips or Tefal here after all. But Tower can still mix it with the best, they have been in the game for over 100 years after all.

Salter are a British company who began making fisherman's scales in 1760, over the centuries they've kept with the times and needs of the consumer. now they make a range of kitchen appliances including the EK2818 air fryer. Using the Salter EK2818 A versatile alternative to deep fat frying, the Salter air fryer enables you to cook using little or no oil without losing any flavour.

There's room for improvement to the design in terms of its plastic casing to be honest. It is a little cheap and good be prone to fading, chips (not those kind) or deforming. For its size, a slightly larger wattage might make for a better cooking experience. Although adequate, when filled to capacity cook times are a little longer than stated in recipes and guides. Another thing to consider, or more aptly, to remember, is that you're cooking something. You're given a timer and a temperature dial to work with, the Salter runs up to 200°C which is plenty hot enough to cook through meats. Nothing tends to take more than 15 minutes to cook in an air fryer, except when you're dehydrating fruits and vegetables. The negative aspect of the Salter, as we explain later, is the short timer duration.

Personally, the timer is still rather short for my liking, 30 minutes is not enough time to dehydrate foods, and there's nothing to suggest this would be an especially difficult modification. Considering the price leap from the comparable T17023, having the same timer duration seems a bit of a short cut. Although large, this air fryer is not especially suited to a professional kitchen environment. Deep fryers are still in vogue though, so don't worry on that front. You can still get a healthy, restaurant quality crunch to your chips in one of these things though. With power and heat indicator lights, a timer control dial, temperature control dial and automatic switch-off, it is easy to operate. Enjoy a healthier take on your favourite fried foods with this innovative frying alternative. The Salter Hot Air Fryer gives you the best of both worlds, allowing you to cook with little or no oil while still retaining plenty of flavour. With a generous 3.2L cooking capacity and an adjustable temperature control up to 200 degrees, it is capable of fast, efficient cooking that makes it ideal for meat, stuffed vegetables, home-made chips as well as quiches, spring rolls and many more. When it comes to baking, you might not have thought an air fryer could handle this kind of cooking. But it can, the air circulation is essentially what happens in an oven, but in the Tower, and other air fryers, this happens on a far smaller scale. Baking in an air fryer is a nice novelty, although it is easier to do in a clear sided version, or one with a viewing window. In terms of its design, the Salter EK2818 will sit alongside your toaster, kettle or coffee machine without intruding too much, there's a style to kitchen gadgets and it fits right in. The rotund nature of it means it does take up a little more countertop real estate than the specifications imply, but not too much to cause any grief. Versatile– An adjustable temperature control that’s capable of reaching up to 220 degrees allows many different foods to be cooked.
