About this deal

It's clear that the filmmakers wanted to take the series into a new direction but the "idea" behind this film is just as awful as the ideas behind the sixth film in the HALLOWEEN franchise. Lets see....where do we start? We can start with the screenplay, which is just one bad cliché after another as we get a boring plot dealing with the man being pulled into his "family" in hopes that they can continue in the future, which really makes no sense when you see that there are plenty of males and females already in the family so breeding isn't really an issue. The characters in the film are all incredibly boring and there's not a single one of them that is interesting. The performances aren't too bad but even the likes of Brando, Newman and Foster wouldn't have been able to do anything with this story. O'Faolain, Aodhan (October 30, 2014). Development for the film began in 2001 when it was announced Summit Entertainment and Newmarket Group teamed to produce Wrong Turn, a 1970s-style horror pic to be directed by Rob Schmidt. [7] Alan B. McElroy, who had begun his career as a screenwriter for Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988), wrote the script. [8] McElroy devised the idea for the film after he and his wife were forced to detour on a rural side road during a snowstorm to avoid a major traffic collision: "As we're doing that, in the dark, in a snowstorm, we're thinking, 'Is this a smart idea?'" McElroy recalled. "Anything could go wrong!" [7]The film was a co-production, Summit Entertainment and Constantin Films, with Stan Winston designing the creature effects and serving as a producer. [9] Inking a deal with Fox-based Regency Enterprises, the co-financiers of Wrong Turn secured domestic distribution through Fox. [10] Fox reportedly had trouble securing an R-rating from the MPAA due to the film's intense violence, with many of the TV spots for the film also being refused approval; this is possibly one of the reasons why subsequent Wrong Turn movies were released straight to video. [11] Filming [ edit ] Sometime later, medical student Chris Flynn drives through the mountains of West Virginia on his way to a business meeting. He stops at a gas station to ask directions, and the elderly owner named Maynard is of no help. Chris finds a map and decides to go down Bear Mountain Road. He collides with a stopped car whose tires have been punctured. The car belongs to a group of college students on a camping trip: Jessie, Carly, Scott, Evan and Francine. They soon discover their tire puncture was no accident and find barbed wire wrapped around it and realize someone did this intentionally. Barton, Steve (October 22, 2014). [7] Additional photography, including the sequence set in the forest station tower, occurred on a set. [7] While shooting a sequence in which her character falls through a series of tree branches, actress Emmanuelle Chriqui dislocated her shoulder. [7] Music [ edit ] Wrong Turn is an American slasher film series created by Alan B. McElroy. The series consists of seven films, five of which share the same continuity, while the later two films are served as a reboot. The films originally focus on various families of deformed cannibals who hunt and kill a group of people in West Virginia in horrific ways by using a mixture of traps and weaponry. The reboot film features a centuries-old cult in Virginia who respond violently to outsiders who intrude on their self-sufficient civilization. In Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, he is seen killing Kimberly by cutting her in half with the help of Brother, a member of the cannibal family. Then, he and the mutant family begin their brutal assault on the rest of the contestants as he successfully killed Neil, a television crew member and captured Colonel Dale Murphy with the help of Pa. Later, he was seen torturing Dale in his cabin but Dale somehow manages to escape before engaging Three Finger in a knife fight. During the fight, Dale manages to shoot Three Finger in the chest with a shotgun and as the result, he was presumed dead, but he survives. This is one of those films which are as cliché as you can get and the plot is predictable all the way through. But still, I did like 'Wrong Turn'. It had more than just the classic kids get lost in the woods and get killed. There was a little spark to it and I loved the fact that the killers were deformed mutated humans who were more closer to real monsters, than the more routine big bad guys. One thing I hated is the fact that the actors are so beautiful and glossed over even when they come out of burning towers, running through the wild and their throats are parched without water. But, I liked it & some of you who may not have seen too many horror movies like me may like it. Miska, Brad (September 8, 2014). " 'Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort' Teaser Takes You On a Gory Trip! Wrong Turn (2003) - Financial Information". The Numbers. Archived from the original on January 22, 2022. In Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines he is the antagonist alongside his two original brothers. During the series, he has been blown up, stabbed, impaled, and shot various times, and yet survives; he is also very skillful at creating traps that will instantly kill the victims before he finishes his cruel job on them. In addition, he also has the unnatural ability of regenerating. The Wrong Turn film series has featured several different cannibals. All of the cannibals are hostile toward the characters they encounter, showing no remorse for their victims. The cannibals are portrayed as mute, but show the ability to communicate with each other. They also show the mental capability to operate machinery and vehicles. The cannibals stay with each other in groups and appear to be the result of inbreeding. Members of the Foundation resemble a tribal cult more than anything, drawing stark contrast from the inbred cannibals of the original series. They don pelts in an almost medieval fashion while also wearing animal masks and speak in an unknown language. They even possess a crude sense of mob justice, placing victims before a primitive form of a trial and passing judgment. Foundation members also commit mercy killings where appropriate, sparing some from the slow, torturous death of their traps. The themes of mercy, capital punishment, and cultural barriers are on full display in this reboot, which trades its over-the-top violence for concise, yet visceral kills and a significantly eerie atmosphere. The unknown nature of the Foundation possesses more depth than that of the original cannibals, and their customs can be considered almost as horrific as the way they execute prisoners.
