An Adaption To Stage By Conor MaguireBased On Chapter 18 Of Ulysses By James JoyceWe’re kicking off Bloomsday with a unique performance, commissioned specially by the Belfast Book Festival and adapted for the stage by Conor Maguire. This brunch-time event “Yes” Molly’s Soliloquy is a theatrical adaptation based on Chapter 18 of James Joyce’s Ulysses.Molly Bloom lies in bed, her husband Leopold having returned home and fallen asleep beside her and so begins one of Joyce’s most breathless, raunchy and explosive pieces of writing. Molly reminisces on memories of past affairs, her current liaison with Blazes Boylan, her suspicions regarding Leopold Bloom’s clandestine sexual encounters, and her early days with Bloom. We are delighted to partner with Bullitt to bring this piece of special theatre to the festival. A brunch of filled Brioche rolls, teas and coffees, and yes, even a Bloomsday cocktails will be served.Space is limited, so don’t miss your chance to witness this unique piece of theatre. There will be further performances of this piece at The Crescent on 17 and 18 June.
