About this deal

Being that it has no pigment, in many cases, it actually acts as a stripping agent for leathers whose color is applied after the drum-dye process i.e. crust leathers, or other ‘washed’ leathers made for stripping/patina, museum calf etc. This is especially true when using it on a brand new pair of shoes. Used shoes, less so but still susceptible. Dyed-through box calf will not have the same issues for this point though. But will suffer the below, on point 2. Hi, Justin. What about white leather shoes? Like the white leather sneakers that are common all around. Do they need to be waxed using neutral wax? Or are they supposed to be just moisturized (twice a year?) and polished with neutral cream only?

Kiwi Shoe Polish, Parade Gloss Prestige Shine Renew, Neutral

The application process is simple and rewarding. Begin by ensuring your shoes are clean and dry. Then, using a cloth or polish applicator, apply the KIWI Shoe Polish evenly. Allow it to dry, and with a brush or soft cloth, buff your shoes to a glorious shine. For an even higher luster, apply an additional light coat of polish, sprinkle with water, and buff again with a soft cloth. As of 2005 it was manufactured in Australia, Canada, Honduras, France, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. [6] S. C. Johnson (April 2011–present) [ edit ] So many times have I see someone try and wax polish their brand new shoes with neutral wax and remove the finish and then blame the shoemaker. It wasn’t their fault. It was yours, for using something you should not have. I have even done so myself when polishing shoes professionally and learned the hard way, hence me writing this now in the hopes for you all to not make the same mistakes, I did and so many others do. Carnauba wax works and functions the same way as a traditional wax but is made of all-natural wax ingredients that make it a popular choice.

Recent:

In the UK, Kiwi polish was manufactured for many years at the company's British headquarters in Ealing. That facility manufactured for the UK market and exported the Kiwi brand to much of Europe and the Middle East. In the mid-1970s, as part of a major streamlining, the UK factory was closed, and production was switched to France. The UK operation moved to Yateley becoming, effectively, a sales and marketing office, with distribution contracted to a third party. [ citation needed] Neutral Wax is the cause of many issues in the shoe-care realm of the shoe industry. Namely by regular people (i.e. no professional shiners). You see, most assume you need to use it on any color you don’t have an exact match for. That’s a myth. Get this idea out of your head. Now. Kiwi was a major improvement on previous brands. It preserved shoe leather, made it shine, and restored colour. By the time Kiwi Dark Tan was released in 1908, it incorporated agents that added suppleness and water resistance. Australian-made boot polish was then considered the world's best. A range of colours became available, and exports began to Britain, continental Europe, and New Zealand. Mink oil has been a popular leather conditioner and treatment method and is commonly used as a leather polish. The oil is made from the abdomen fat of a mink, making it a natural product. Compared to wax or cream that puts a layer of material on top of the shoe, mink oil is a natural oil that replenishes the natural oils found in leather goods. The mink oil can penetrate the leather and help lubricate the individual fibers in the leather. Not only does this make the leather smooth again, but it can help make the shoes more flexible and soft. The main ingredients in Kiwi shoe polish are alkanes, paraffins, and 1-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzene. After working the polish in, leave it to dry and work its way into the leather. This can be anywhere from 20 minutes to even overnight to fully work its magic. Similar to other wax shoe polish options, Carnauba wax has a hydrophobic property. This means that the wax can help to repel water, adding an extra waterproofing layer to your shoes. Like other wax shoe polish options, Carnauba wax is applied with a horsehair dauber brush, allowed to dry, and then buffed with a horsehair buffer brush until a nice, even shine forms.
