I would like to thank #AnnWynClark, #Netgalley, #AvonBooks and #RachelsRandomResources for an ARC of #WhisperCottage in exchange for an honest review. I found there was not much happening and very few spooky or creepy things happening. I started to get a little bored. The range cooker with halogen hob means you can practice your cooking skills. A fridge with ice box, freezer and microwave are also provided, and the dishwasher makes cleaning up afterwards a breeze. Great follow up to book 3. Lily explores more of Skye Island and attends a great music festival. Ryan may be convinced to finally leave her alone and she may have solved the legal problems with her cottage. She thinks she has her problems solved only to encounter a bigger one. I enjoyed the intervals with mrs. Barley, the quirky elderly lady next door. She's an independent and compassionate soul, blessed with curiosity.

I love the old haunted cottage/house trope, it's one of my faves and I loved all the spooky witchcraft elements too.

MY THOUGHTS: First off, I am going to state that I don't consider Whisper Cottage to be a psychological thriller. In my eyes, it is more of a mystery, and a very good one, a very enjoyable one. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the Norfolk Coast is 450km2 of unspoilt paradise where visitors feel at one with nature. Villages like Blakeney, Morston, Glandford and Cley-next-the-Sea are the perfect base for exploring the picturesque local landscapes, and our beautiful cottages are waiting to become your home from home.

Success!

The audio is about 9.5 hours long and narrated by Lauren Moakes. Moakes does a great job of voice acting. She reads at a nice pace and brings the characters to life. Very enjoyable listening experience! When strange things start to happen the couple are left wondering if this was the right move for them. I was really gripped and hooked into where the story was going and I was constantly guessing what was going to happen next.

At australia 247 our purpose is to help people find great local businesses like dentists, hair stylists, restaurants, bars, hotels, local businesses. There are whispers all throughout this book, least of all in the small minds of villagers whose gossip ends up being a form of Chinese whispers where what begins as one thing ends up something completely different! So the whispers of the past and the whispers of the villagers become the whispers in her own mind. And as Stina begins to question her own sanity she also starts to wonder just who her neighbour really is. For a more sedate countryside experience, choose a section of the 100-mile long South Downs Way to walk or cycle, and enjoy the Sussex landscape at it’s very best – or choose walks from your door in Lodsworth that run through woodland and fields and boast some stunning views of the South Downs and Rother Valley. Anne Wyn Clark's writing really shined with the unease and sense of doubt she created throughout the book. I wondered as well, was Mrs. Barley a lonely outcast who lived on the fringes of society for too long? Was she misunderstood and eccentric? Or was there something more sinister going on. I loved the dubious assumptions made in this book. Luxurious and sizeable, Sea Whispers provides everything you need to help you relax and enjoy the sights of Blakeney. When it’s time for bed, there are three large rooms to choose from. On the first floor is the master suite with king-size bed. It comes complete with a beautifully decorated en-suite, with its walk-in shower and standalone bath. OK, I'll be honest. What initially drew me to this book was the character's name - Stina. It is a shortened version of my name that was given to me by a child who couldn't pronounce all three syllables of my name some thirty odd years ago. However, this woman was christened the name which was said to be Swedish. Had it not been for that little tidbit I probably would have passed this book and never read it. The premise wasn't overly intriguing though it did have promise. So I held on to that in the hope it offered up something exciting. Not so good points: To be honest, I don't have any negative to say. I liked the characters, even old Mrs Barley. Although she was pretty weird. This series just keeps getting better and better. The mystery involving Lily and Callum is so intense and has so many unanswered question. Bring on book five. Don’t get me wrong, I really did enjoy this book and I liked how unpredictable the story was. The isolation that Stina feels, despite living next to a seemingly lovely neighbour, was really effective and helped build the tension. Yet, the slow pace of the story and the lengthy conclusion did lessen the overall impact of this spooky narrative.
