Since the purchase of a small distillery in Santiago de Cuba, bought in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó Bacardi has become a world-renowned brand of light and refreshing rum - a great addition to cocktails. To create his superior rum Don Facundo had to find the highest quality of ingredients, including a unique strain of yeast which he found growing in the sugarcane fields outside Santiago de Cuba. After ageing in American white oak barrels, a secret blend of charcoals is then used to shape and sculpt the final rum, ensuring that no single flavour dominates its taste.
