I know this is an old post, but I wanted to update my inquiry from a few months ago asking if I can use XLR->dual-RCA splitters from my pre-amp (Yamaha CX-A5100) directly into the 16x60 amp to achieve bridged channels without any sort of adapter or modifications to the amp - and the answer is YES! Emotiva had originally promised an Atmos update for the XMC-1 but that didn’t quite pan out as expected. But if I’m just using it in the living room, only 1 of the 8 amp boards is actually in use, and given that I almost always have music going, that adds up! larger exit pupil and wider field as compared to the20x60's were all advantages in favor of the 16x60's.
