About this deal

The 622GW is the only dashcam in the range to feature a resolution of 4k, this allows for really crisp videos and you’ll be able to identify signs, faces and reg plates with ease. Another upgrade you’ll find in the 622GW that wasn’t features in the 522GW is digital image stabilization, this works much like it does on high end DSLR cameras to digitally make videos smoother and iron out the bumps. It has been completely re-designed to provide a fresh new look and feel, for enhanced user experience. Please remember that after this test your Dash Cam will once again need charging as the battery will be flat. If you look at the options on most nextbase they have a few timer options to shut down after power lost, I know on my 402 there was a 5 minute option, trouble is it would not last 5 minutes even after being fully charged driving for hours, it is normal for the cams to get warm, I have 5 nextbase in family, all rubbish constant problems, constant repairs, constantly unreliable the biggest problem is ?, BATTERIES, charging circuit cooks the batteries, I had 4 in a year The 422GW has a camera resolution of 1440p, more commonly known as 2k. Whilst the camera does also offer 60fps, you will need to keep the resolution at 1080p to utilise this.

NEXTBASE 312GW Deluxe Full HD Dash Cam - Black - Currys Business

Includes: 5V Mini USB power cable, 2 Amp ATO/C fuse (standard), 2 Amp ATM fuse (mini), Fuse tap table (standard), Fuse tap cable ATM (mini) and Ferrite core to remove electrical interference.Total Length = 5 metres. Just got a Nextbase 322GW and the video quality seems to be actually worse than the one it's replacing, a 312GW. Video seems to be interpolated and grainy and quite a bit darker but not to the extent where I would class it as faulty. The Nextbase 222 is the next in the range. As far as features go, it is relatively similar with no WiFi or Bluetooth so you cannot connect it to your phone. It does, however, have upgraded specs as far as the hardware goes. Remove the SD card and press the reset button on the underside of the Dash Cam. Then turn the Dash Cam on. Please turn Parking Mode off and turn Screen Saver off as these could interfere with the test results. The internal hardware and software are where you’ll find the major differences as it’s the first in the series that features WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, that’s where the GW comes from. This allows you to connect the 322GW to the MyNextbase Connect app and view your dashcam footage on your mobile phone. By comparison, the 222 dashcam requires you to take out the SD card and insert it into a laptop or PC.The Transcend Premium card Russ331 recommends in post #6 seems to work well in almost every cam. It's my personal fave as well- a great card at good prices for what you get.

For the camera nerds, the 422GW has a better lens which has an f/1.3 aperture as opposed to f/1.6. Essentially, this means that more light enters the camera. That extra adjustment does have a big impact on the quality, especially under darker lighting. The range has been simplified slightly from the previous generation which offered WiFi and non-WiFi versions of the camera. In series 2, every device from the 322 upwards has both WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. Then the Dash Cam will be visible as a removable drive on your computer. If you go into My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) you will be able to see the Dash Cam listed as a drive, usually called NEXTBASE. When I start the car and drive, normally around 10 minutes into the journey it lights up and the recording counter stops. We’ll start by looking at a comparison table of the main features and then review each one below. Series 2 Comparison Chart One of our favourite things about the series 2 dashcam range is that it’s really easy to understand. For every model you go up, from 122 through to 622, you’ll get more features or better specs. The 522GW takes another slight step up in size which allows it to have a 3” touch screen instead of the 2.5” of the 422GW. Most of the other features are the same with both WiFi and Bluetooth to use it with the MyNextbase Connect app, emergency response and built in Alexa. They follow the same pattern as the series 1 range, with 6 devices covering every segment of the market from the budget 122 up to the highest spec 622GW.

Nextbase How to update your firmware | Nextbase

In the current series two range of Nextbase dashcam’s, the 622GW is the top tier device. This features the best camera resolution at 4k, the highest frame rate at 120fps and has a number of unique features such as What3Words technology and image stabilisation. The 122 is right at the lower end of the market and is a small, compact device that comes at a budget price. It has all of the essential features you need from a dashcam, including loop recording which writes over the footage you don’t need so you never need to delete the footage. If you need to keep footage, you can manually save it or the built in G-sensor can detect crashes and protect footage for you. I’d recommend using a separate Camera such as the 122 or 222 on the rear windscreen. You will need a separate power supply and SD card as it will not connect to your 312G, but can be used as a Camera facing rearwards. The prices are comparable with the Series 2 Rear Cams, and if you’d like to keep using your 312G, is the most viable option. Best option is to put it on the shortest shut down time, if it runs out of battery power and therefore can't shut down correctly it will kill the last stored segment, ie the one you need having been involved in an accident, it is the prime reason I bought a dashcam that uses capacitors not batteries, the thinkware F770, hardwired it also protects with it's parking mode. Every journey, around 10 minute in. Recording loops are set to 5 mins I think. When it does stop, it's at a random point like 1:47 for example, not 5:00. Lithium-ion 3.7V / 450mAh (approx. 30mins recording time) Battery design allows the 'Auto Power Off' feature to function in event of power loss within the vehicle. It is not intended as an alternative power source to replace the supplied car adaptor.
