About this deal

As a fully-automatic blaster, the Select will burn through your NERF ammunition, but thanks to the inclusion of a novel clip selector, you can load two 10-dart clips at one time. Once you have emptied your first clip, move the clip selector handle, located just under the barrel, to switch instantly to a fresh magazine. Not only does the clip selector mean you won’t have to worry about reloading for a while, but it also allows for some strategic thinking. The Select comes with both 10 standard, long-distance, ULTRA darts and special AccuStrike ULTRA darts, which are designed for precision. No one will be able to escape you now, whether they’re near or far! The NERF Ultra Focus is a semi-automatic blaster (one trigger pull equals one shot) with an acceleration button located below the trigger guard. It’s not the largest blaster available, but thanks to its lightweight and small size, it’s perfect for special ops or fast-moving NERF battles. Beyond the dual magazine setup and the new darts, the Select is also a full-auto blaster. Yep, we have a new “rifle” to play with! We may have fallen in love with the NERF ULTRA Pharaoh. It may be the luxurious gold trim, the special gold ULTRA darts, the 10-dart clip, or the fact that it’s a NERF sniper. Gah, we love this blaster more than it deserves. If you like to bring a bit of style onto the blasting field, then look no further – this is the one. Nerf Ultra Strike Motorized Blaster, 10 Nerf AccuStrike Ultra Nerf Ultra Strike Motorized Blaster, 10 Nerf AccuStrike Ultra

The Ultra dart-only mechanism here is combined with the pusher, and makes the master PCB necessary. If an Ultra dart doesn’t depress the safety, a plastic tab will slide into place, physically impeding pusher movement. If that was the only thing here, that would destroy the gears as the pusher fought against it. HOWEVER, there’s also a switch that ceases to be depressed when this happens. When that signal gets cut, the pusher motor is put into reverse, retracting the pusher instead of continuing the initial motion. Once the pusher position switch is engaged, the mechanism shuts off and resets, waiting for the next trigger depression to start things over again. The Ultra Select is, quite frankly, a demonstration of what Ultra should have been. The new darts show what Ultra could have promised, had they waited to release the line a little longer. The blaster, meanwhile, offers a great platform, with both full-auto capabilities and being able to swap magazines on the fly, faster than physically replacing the magazines themselves. ULTRA Darts are darts that feature built-in fins on the bottom. It has a streamlined dart head, similar to that of Mega Darts, though the dart heads of ULTRA Darts feature two small parallel holes towards the top. The darts are made from expanded polypropylene (EPP) which is brittle and not as flexible as most foam darts, and similar in appearance to styrofoam. [1] The heads are made of soft thermoplastic rubber (TPR).

The carry handle is nice, though I suspect it serves to also strengthen the shell (a magazine carriage instead of a single magazine well means less support for the blaster shell itself). There are also multiple sling points, and a solitary tactical rail on top. The large barrel is aggressive looking, and wide enough to not interfere with dart flight. The NERF Ultra Select is the first full-automatic ULTRA NERF gun that combines the phenomenal firing distance of the Ultra series with the terror only inspired by full-auto carnage. If you want to break dart firing range records, you need special ammo. The ULTRA series uses specially designed “ULTRA Darts” instead of traditional darts or high impact rounds. These darts utilize “Aerofin” technology with fins at the bottom and a streamlined head, which Hasbro says is the key to their impressive 120ft range. They are made of a special “Ultra foam” and are less flexible than MEGA or Elite darts. The NERF ULTRA AMP is a lovely little tactical blaster that reminds us of an old favorite, the Stryfe. Although the AMP is much smaller than the Pharaoh, it has some qualities we really like, although it’s not gold, which is a bit of a disappointment. There have been reports online that ULTRA Darts suffer from significant wear and tear around the dart head. [ citation needed] Unlike most darts, ULTRA dart heads are not mechanically anchored to the foam body of the dart. The heads are simply dome shaped caps that are glued onto the shaft, where the head meets the body. This also corresponds to the area under greatest stress when ULTRA Darts impact their target, weakening this joint and often causing the heads to come loose or detach. [ citation needed]

Nerf Ultra One Motorised Blaster – 25 Nerf Ultra Darts

Unlike the ONE and TWO, the THREE is a pump-action blaster, requiring you to pump the priming mechanism located at the bottom of the gun before each shot. It may not win any awards for sophistication, but combined with a feed-in clip, you won’t be too far behind anyone with a motorized blaster.Sorrentio, M. (2019-09-23). Nerf's new Ultra blasters have darts that fly farther than ever (Article). CNET. Archived from the original on 2019-09-23. Retrieved on 2019-09-23. The guts of the blaster can come out all at once, which will make rewiring a breeze. Whereas a Rapidstrike (or Turbine, for that matter) have the pusher gears in a discrete unit, the pusher motor, switches, and various gears are all contained in the general clamshell of guts here. The NERF ULTRA FOUR is perfect for anyone who wants to try the ULTRA series without spending a lot of money. As one of the most affordable blasters in the series, it’s simple and won’t have many things that can go wrong. The NERF ULTRA ONE is a beautifully designed motorized blaster that uses a 25-dart drum to help you eliminate your opponents with ease.

Finally, there’s an interesting artifact from product development. Namely, there’s a slot for a jam door switch, but the switch itself isn’t there. Seeing as Ultra blasters have mechanisms to prevent firing non-Ultra darts and objects, I assume that provision was made for an extra switch until the pusher mechanism safety was proven. At that point, Hasbro could delete the switch to save money…and since molds were already made, there was no point in investing in new ones simply to remove that slot. It’s worth mentioning that the TWO is semi-automatic, so you need to pull the trigger for each shot. But as an eagle-eyed gunslinger, you don’t need hundreds of darts to defeat your enemies, right? The NERF Ultra Speed blaster also comes with 24 NERF AccuStrike Ultra darts, meaning you can bring two full clips onto the field with you. It almost feels unfair that this blaster not only fires darts at a rapid pace but as these are Ultra AccuStrikes it is also deadly accurate! However, unlike other series, there have been no AccuStrike ULTRA blasters released. The only ULTRA product from this sub-series is the AccuStrike ULTRA Dart. The One and Two have grace, poise, and a sleek design, but the NERF ULTRA THREE, not so much. Honestly, we are completely bewildered by this blaster. It is oddly larger than expected and has some unusual design choices. Overall it’s a fun blaster to handle, despite the design issues inherent with the Ultra line. Performance Interestingly, the ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, and SEVEN are known to physically exist, but not the SIX.

To start blasting, simply load the clip into the underside of the Speed, hold down the acceleration button to power up the motor, and pull the trigger to fire. The Speed features a drop down grip just under the muzzle to help you keep a steady aim and there is even an integrated iron sights on top to help you place those tough shots. To that end, a new entry has come along, appearing on some Walmart shelves without warning. It’s odd – Ultra released with lots of fanfare, but initially failed to live up to the PR promises. Now, the Ultra Select is silently releasing, but (within reason) meeting those expectations, two years later. Looking to absolutely obliterate your rivals? The NERF Ultra Speed is a foam-dart death machine. With a fire rate of 7 darts per second combined with 24 NERF AccuStrike Ultra darts, the Ultra Speed will have your enemies left in the dust before they even know you were there. This is where things get interesting. It’s the setup you’d expect from a Rapidstrike (scotch yoke pusher, three switch setup), but with extra bits attached, and a main PCB controlling everything. The issue now, however, is whether it’s too late for blaster fans to care. Ultra magazines aren’t something we’ve seen in stores, aside from select hobby shops, so the effectiveness of the Select in a loadout is questionable (unless you’re a weird person like me). The new darts work far better, but buying them separately has yet to be confirmed.
