About this deal

Luhrmann's direction and the film's editing, there's just too much wrong (or at least off) to ignore. Extras: Language(s): English, Blu-ray: Castilian Spanish; 4K: Canadian French, Latin Spanish, Blu-ray: Italian, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Subtitles: 4K: Danish, Finnish, Canadian French, Parisan French, Norwegian, Latin Spanish; Blu-ray: Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Castilian Spanish, Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:2. Austin Butler's transformation is more than just a remarkable achievement—it's a testament to the magic of cinema and the incredible talents that breathe life into it.

The transfer pops from the minute the stylized Warner logo first appears, which only improves from there, with the bright lights of the Las Vegas skyline, dazzling costumes, etc. Grain is added in (as none is naturally present due to its digital origins) and it’s amazing what they can do with this now – granted, it’s never overt (apart from when the use of lower res footage is included by design) but it’s there, it’s mostly very fine and it does indeed help give the impression of film. costumes dazzle, as well as the mostly inviting and warm-toned scenes set during our main character's younger days (above). Immediately you will undoubtedly notice that the height channels are used very tastefully for mostly the music and sound effects, to help build this large sound (as mentioned) which seems very fitting about this Atmos mix. Luhrmann is Australian and he and a few others talk about how Australia and Los Angeles were used as the locations for the film.Watching Butler on screen, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself had been resurrected for this role.

Musical Moments (2160p/1080p; 46:19): Quick access to the several musical numbers featured in the film. There is only 49 minutes worth of extras here, not counting the 47 minutes of musical selections, but that doesn't really count, since it's just the movie. Luhrmann knows how to set a film on fire with spectacular effects that can fully immerse his audience inside a live stage play with all the hot lights, music, and choreography to keep everyone's toes tapping. All along the way, you’ll feel a very deep amount of bass in the speakers as well as strong LFE coming from the subwoofer. It's not a total loss, of course: Austin Butler's lead performance is quite good for what was undoubtedly an intimidating pair of shoes to fill.

A thoroughly cinematic drama, Elvis's story is seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker. tagged with 4K UHD Blu-ray, Alton Mason, Austin Butler, Baz Luhrmann, Dacre Montgomery, David Gannon, David Wenham, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, Elvis, Elvis Presley, Gary Clark Jr.So, it’s not far off when he discusses that all in the film and was just changed up for dramatic impact. It’s on a BD-100 and that was a wise choice for a film with a runtime of 2 hours and 39 minutes, as it never misses a beat. It’s very much a specific style of film, both from Luhrmann’s own sensibilities and its stance on its narrative approach, and one that will alienate as many as it draws in, but certainly for this reviewer, this was an exhilarating and dazzling reminder of Elvis’s enduring legacy. Alongside that, Luhrmann makes an awful lot of use of sound effects and there’s a beautiful dynamic range to them, again utilising the same balanced tonal mix of the music. Its a crisp image with great contrast to put forth a fantastic color scheme that really radiates off the screen nicely.

There are a number of good scenes with an excellent supporting cast that includes Jagger; Carolyn Jones as Ronnie, the woman who tempts Danny; and Walter Matthau as club owner Maxie Fields, who continually threatens the singer. Dialogue, starting with narration, is delivered distinctly from the center channel and mixed perfectly balanced, with zero need for any volume adjustments to be made throughout. The disc therefore utilises the film’s 4K digital intermediate to produce a native 4K, 3840 x 2160p resolution, image with an aspect ratio of 2. That really sets it apart more than anything, aside from telling things from the narrative perspective of “Colonel Tom Parker” which is genius. resolution using Arri Alexa 65, Alexa LF, and Panaflex System 65 cameras and completed as a 4K digital intermediate in the 2.I go through a lot of extras in my job here and have over the past few decades and this really sounded good [was enjoyable] but felt like “it fell a bit flat,” to use a musical reference, for a film this good. Austin Butler is simply tremendous as Elvis – within minutes, you’ve forgotten you’re not watching the real Presley and sink into his portrayal. But, this kid’s dead ringer-ness was so wild at times that later in the movie you have to wonder if they didn’t just toss in a frame of Elvis or deep fake a couple seconds here and there cuz he’ll actually look and feel like the genuine article.
