Given the fair weather conditions, it didn't receive too much of a bashing from the weather but excellent when it did rain. Really sturdy on the tension system alone so wind wasn't a problem. Turn heaters off: Further warming the air inside the tent will increase water vapour in the air as warm air can support more moisture (our techy guys talk about dew points and percentage humidity), plus the warmer the tent is the more moisture will be released into the tent through evaporation and perspiration. Instead of heating the tent, warm yourself up with the right clothing and good sleeping bags. This2014 version has a re-designed single flysheet door, to provide a greater porch area for gear storage or cooking. Did you know that 1 person can produce up to 1 pint of condensation per night? So, let’s say you have 5 people in a tent, that is potentially 5 pints of water inside your tent! Other likely sources of moisture are wet shoes, clothes, dogs, cooking, even the air itself! Warm air can hold more moisture than cold air, as the temperature falls at night the more moisture is released into the air. Fact, even without occupants, the air in a six-man tent holds approximately 1 pint of water!

Didn't have too much trouble with the tension system as it's fairly easy to get to grips with and it meant I didn't need to peg any guy ropes down at all (great when other festival goers are stomping through!).I'm looking at the Vango Halo 300 or the Tempest 300, has anyone had one of these and can they confirm the 3 person-ness of these tents? Breathable polyester inner allows condensation to pass through for a more comfortable night's sleep haha weemistermac no need to stay single a while longer, just means you'll get to snuggle up closer in the smaller tent

Factory Taped Seams - All flysheet and groundsheet seams are factory taped, giving a watertight seal Rain stop flysheet doors – The doors have been designed so that rain will not drop into the inner when opened I took this tent on a 6 night hiking trip in Scotland. The weather was as you can expect (rainy!). The tent performed amazingly and it fit two adults comfortably. Only complaint was I'd love it to have been a tiny bit taller, but obviously for a tent this size it's to be expected. Still was able to sit up in it, get changed, etc. Comfortably fit me, my bag and Thermarest mattress in, but can't say I'd recommend it for two person use. Downside: I would not recommend this tent for one person as it weighs more than you should carry and that's even after stripping down the spare guys, carry bag, porch mat and leaving one pole and other spares behind and I could not get the weight down to less than 3kgs, so far too much weight for one person to carry in the mountains. To walk up 2000 metres of height carrying this tent and all other equipment needed for a wild camp is really a drain on the energy and I would suggest using a lighter alternative if you wish to keep safe.Factory taped seams - All flysheet and groundsheet seams are factory taped, giving a water tight seal The size of bedroom you may need has many factors. Tent manufacturers show the size as a maximum amount of people and will not consider for any extra space you may need.

I use Halo 400s for my DofE group and they would be snug for 4 adults, I'd go for one of these it will only cost a few bob more than a 300 and give you a bit more room. They are very stable and the two exits are handy, not for carrying though unless you have 4 DofEs to do it for you. I think the layout of the Halo is better for family camping than the Tempest, use Tempest200s for the Gold group as they are a bit more organised when camping.
