Dante rides atop Phlegyas who he controls to smash down the walls of the City of Dis and into the sixth circle, Heresy. Lucifer emerges from the giant monster in his true form, a horned, satyr-like monster, and battles Dante.

After overcoming the puzzles of the fallen God of Wealth Plutus, Dante defeats Alighiero and uses Beatrice's now-enchanted cross to absolve him. In addition, there are numerous hidden passages where Biblical relics can be found and equipped to improve Dante's abilities.Dante's Inferno generally used the same characters as in the original poem and the only truly new character was Beatrice's brother, Francesco Portinari. Lucifer tried to use the soul of Beatrice to escape from damnation to conquer all of that was righteous. His primary weapon is a scythe that can be used in a series of combination attacks and finishing moves. The most recurring comment over the gameplay of Dante's Inferno was its similarities to the God of War games. If you can get this game on the cheap or rental you’d be damned not to check this game out - even if it is for stunning CGI sequences, epic bosses, the odd boob shot and the brainless bashing of the undead.
