The festival will run from Thursday the 16th May to Sunday the 19th May and will encompass 3 events;Brian Mackay Lyons Talk16.05.19FiftySevenTen are delighted to welcome Brian MacKay-Lyons, founding director of Canadian-based practice MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects. The practice has built an international reputation for design excellence confirmed by over 125 awards. Most notably the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Gold Medal in 2015. The work of the practice has also been recognised in over 330 publications including 6 monographs. The BIG CRIT is open to staff, students and members of the public and is free of charge. Future Communities, Stage 6 Architecture show17.05.19 – 19.05.19FiftySevenTen and the Scott Sutherland School are hosting an exhibition at the Anatomy rooms in Aberdeen’s City centre showcasing the work of Master year Architecture students. The exhibition entitled Future communities will display the work of 30 students, from 3 units under 3 different topics; The future of housing, the future of Aberdeen Harbour and the future of Orkney tourism. The Exhibition is free with a launch party on Friday the 17th of May at 18:00.
