The talk of the H719 virus (a bird flu) originating in China really hit home because of our current world situation. Most of the experiences of the author would just about be bookworthy as a solitary tale, but altogether they are so extraordinary that the book is almost fantastical in scope. Maybe she should run like Daddy Andrew said, sprint through the room, dodge the turned-over furniture like a mouse through high grass, then onto the deck and outside and away. Leonard and Wen talk and play until Leonard abruptly apologizes and tells Wen, "None of what’s going to happen is your fault".Would definitely recommend checking this one out, but due to some of her experiences, there are some trigger warnings that you should be aware of if you require them. EDIT- as pointed out by a reader below, I was not intending to imply that gay couples are neither "real or normal". The Cabin keeps you on your toes until the very last page, and it doesn’t have a predictable ending. Writing from a shifting third-person perspective, Tremblay has to walk a fine line between giving us some of their backstory while withholding important bits of information to generate suspense. After the destruction of the heavens and everything in the world, the entire earth will be bare ( 2 Peter 3:10).
