Right or left switch and cord locations provides both choice and consistency, and the motor does not rotate during depth adjustment. I've logged about 50 hours (hand-held) with this router, in both soft and hardwoods (red oak, cherry, mahogany, maple, poplar), so my observations are based on that usage. I got the VS Milwaukee mainly because of the soft start and theirs is pretty nice compared to the Bosch. The professional blue power tools from Bosch are engineered for excellence – meeting the highest standards in speed, precision and robustness for great, professional work results. This doesn't look refurbished just used and they took a quick inventory and through in what they thought was missing.

The other thing I have found very useful with this Bosch model is the accessory template guide adapter and templates. Flat top makes for easy bit changes and ensures that router does not turn itself on for those of us who do not unplug the unit (bad habit). I can’t get the depth of the bit to be exactly what I want unless I DON’T use the fine adjustment feature of the router.Here are pictures of the base with the template guide and a short adapter for 1/2" solid carbide spiral up cut bit installed, in the "baseline" position and extended. Very similar to the Bosch, in design, fit and finish not as good but OK, can't comment or durability or longevity. It features a Heavy Duty 12 amps, 2-1/4 HP, 8,000-25,000 rpm (no load) with plunge base and fixed base in a rugged heavy duty plastic tool case. Where some might find it lacking is having a comprehensive dust collection feature built in with a clear dust dust shield over the working area, like some DeWalt and Porter Cable 1/2" shank routers I own.

It's casing is well machined, and while that has little bearing on it's overall performance, it is a sign that the unit is quality manufactured.Some big bits won't fit in a base that accommodates the PC bushings but your usage might not require that. The Power Tools Division of the Bosch Group is the world market leader for power tools and power tool accessories. Again if you can not lower the motor enough you unlatch the motor press in on the stop lever and lower the motor to the last or lower stop and adjust the know as needed, lock the motor and you ready to go. Bosch’s bearings aren’t as good either unless you rebuild with quality SKF high speed bearings like I did with mine. I've also routed several through and half-blind dovetails on my Rockler jig, again, with no issues with bit wander.
